This LEGO store gave me an extremely negative experience, not recently, a while ago. My friend and I, both Asian, had just walked into the store when a male employee immediately told us—very rudely—that our children were not allowed to play and could “only buy.” They had been in the area for less than a minute. We have visited this store many times and have repeatedly seen other children play in the same area without issue. This obvious double standard made us feel discriminated against. Management should seriously address this behavior and improve staff training. If zero stars were an option, I would give zero.

The UTC LEGO Store is easily the best LEGO location in San Diego. The staff is consistently friendly, patient and genuinely helpful every time I visit. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it makes the whole experience feel welcoming. They also take great care of the Pick A Brick wall. It is well stocked, well organized and clearly maintained with attention. It sounds simple, but seeing a store keep tabs on the Pick A Brick section actually feels wholesome and shows pride in their work. The store is clean, well arranged and easy to browse. Whether I am looking for a specific set or just stopping by to see what is new, this shop always makes the visit worth it. For some reason it does take them unusually long time to see if something is in stock and they may not have much Christmas items in stock often times during December from my years of going here. That does need to improve. That’s my only criticism.

The petite lady that assisted us was very kind. She helped us with our Lego Passport stamps. This is a good place to buy your Legos. They have alot of good stuff inside the store.

I recently purchased a LEGO set and discovered that the instruction manual was missing pages 8–17. When I approached the LEGO Store for assistance, the initial staff member was dismissive and insisted that I look up the instructions online, showing little concern for my request. I asked for a physical manual, even if they needed to open another box. After a short delay, another employee, who appeared to be the manager, came to provide a printed version of the missing pages. While the manager was courteous, being offered a printout on letter-sized paper is unacceptable Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. The initial staff member’s dismissive attitude, combined with the inadequate solution, reflects poorly on LEGO’s customer service. I expect better support and proper handling of defective products. This level of service does not meet the standards one would expect from LEGO.

Lots of options, and I like their idea to sell bulk Legos
