While I was calmly browsing shirts on a rack, an employee—a younger male wearing a green striped tan shirt—walked directly in front of me and aggressively slammed clothing onto the rack before walking away. The behavior was abrupt and uncomfortable. I asked him, “Are you okay?” and he responded with, “Can I help you with something?” I told him I didn’t need assistance and asked if he did, because the interaction felt unnecessary and rude. The entire encounter made me uncomfortable enough that I left the store, even though I had intended to purchase a new outfit. Completely unacceptable behavior for a retail environment.

We briefly walked around the well-kept store in San Clementine CA last weekend, hoping to make an exchange but didn't find what we were looking for. When I got to the checkout counter, I was warmly greeted by Dawn, which I later found out was the Store Manager. Even though she was giving me her full attention, she was still very aware what question was being asked of her colleague on the other side of the counter by a shopper, as well as a customer that made a purchase and was leaving the store wearing his new purchase. Not only did she answer her colleague's answer, she also complimented the man that was leaving wearing his new sweatshirt. Because I have a background in being a GM in the service industry, I noticed her leadership, warmth, and awareness of her surroundings right away. What an absolute gem to represent this CK store! Besides being helpful with my return and offering to help in any other way, the return was comfortable, easy, and quick. I'm not the type of person that every takes the time to complete surveys but when I do, it's only because accolades must be shared because hardworking, friendly professionals are a dime a dozen. I hope to see Dawn again when I'm back at the store to shop!
