- WHWesley HFeb 13, 20264.0The Rack is one of my main places to get clothes and shoes now, especially since the big Nordstrom closed at the Tyler Mall. For the most part everything is a 5/5 star experience - it's a clean store, the lines move quick, and generally there's a nice selection. I'm docking it a star however due to the selection being hit or miss for me as of late. I'm a big Vans guy and they rarely carry them anymore, unfortunately, and men's shoes have really taken a dip over all. There's tons of sneaker-type shoes, and even more vaguely professional (boring) business shoes, but rarely anything exciting or worth picking up. I guess that's the nature of the beast with these types of stores, but as a shoe guy, I've been striking out at this location for a while now.

I came in hoping to exchange a couple of things I got online- I rarely shop in store and I hardly ever make returns- and I felt unwelcome. I was looking for specific brands and I was looking around for someone to help me after I couldn’t find the items. An employee glanced at me (it was very obvious I needed help) passed by right in front of me and said nothing. I had to say “excuse me” and I could tell she was annoyed she had to help me. Because they didn’t have what I wanted, I just decided to do the return. I understand employees have to check the return items, but she was doing too much. Asking me if I got them from Nordstrom like she didn’t believe the items were from them and excessively checking the items. One of them was a bedtime spray that was supposed to be a restock but they changed the formula. I only sprayed it a handful of times and it’s never all the way full when I buy it. She was all holding it to the light at different angles. Idk if it was because I’m a WOC or I wasn’t looking my best that night, but it was a total turnoff. Do better.
