  I’ve always like Max Mara for its elegant and sophisticated clothing, but my experience at the Max Mara Stanford Shopping Center was extremely disappointing. As soon as I walked in, multiple associates greeted me in Chinese without asking my language preference. Making assumptions about a customer based on appearance is inappropriate and unprofessional. The service was also very pushy and uncomfortable. I was followed around the store, repeatedly questioned, and given insincere compliments that felt forced. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt pressured and unable to browse in peace. This was not the respectful or refined experience I expect from a luxury brand. I left quickly and will not be returning. Management should seriously address staff behavior and improve customer service training.

  Beautiful selection w helpful staff. I love the clothing and accessories here but always think twice due to the return policy (store credit only, no full refunds). That makes it hard to buy for my friends and family.

  Be aware that if you buy online from the weekend Max Mara and take it back to the store for return they will not return it. I took my item to the store and they weren’t returning it. After I got upset the manager said she will take my item and try to send it back and give me a refund, but they didn’t even process my item. Now I don’t have the item I purchased, and when I call the online customer service they tell me the store has not contacted them and has not processed the refund. I will never buy anything from Max Mara again.
