This had to be the worst shopping experience. The Chinese-speaking sales woman made me feel so uncomfortable.
From the beginning , I was not greeted with the usual “Hi, Welcome”. This sales woman stood a few feet away and made unwanted, unsolicited comments about my outfit in Chinese. It felt really strange as I barely walked in. I was traveling and had never visited this store before . Why was she assuming that I wanted to be spoken to in Chinese? I did not, actually.
She followed me around and without any prompting, she said, in Chinese again, “Everything here is full price”. After that condescending and unprofessional comment, I couldn’t get myself out of there fast enough. I was looking to shop and try on a few things but the vibe was just unpleasant.

Beautiful selection w helpful staff. I love the clothing and accessories here but always think twice due to the return policy (store credit only, no full refunds). That makes it hard to buy for my friends and family.

Stay away from this store!!! This store is just like a scammer who pushes you buy without disclosing the non-refund policy.
I was pushed to buy a coat and the salesperson Irene Yang cut the tags while packing up my purchase without asking for my permission, because she knew I couldn’t return, and she wanted to make the return more impossible. The manager refused to refund me even if I told her about my unhappy experience I guess because of her racism? Looks like she did take some refunds from previous reviews.
Most importantly: No one told me about the non-refund policy before I pay.
Plus, contacting MaxMara corporate office is useless as each store is running independently. Would have to take legal action to get money back.

Be aware that if you buy online from the weekend Max Mara and take it back to the store for return they will not return it. I took my item to the store and they weren’t returning it. After I got upset the manager said she will take my item and try to send it back and give me a refund, but they didn’t even process my item. Now I don’t have the item I purchased, and when I call the online customer service they tell me the store has not contacted them and has not processed the refund. I will never buy anything from Max Mara again.
