Situation: I purchased a small canvass bag during the Victoria Day sale event. Paid $38 for it. As I was leaving the store, I saw a slightly bigger size. I asked if I can do an exchange. No problem. I was charged the difference of $4. I got two receipts; one showed the $38 and the 2nd receipt was for the difference of $4.
Turns out, it was not what I needed. Today I went to the store to return it. The lady scanned the receipt with $4. Says this can’t be right. I explained the situation. She called the manager. Manager reviewed the receipts. Insisted that I’m only supposed to get $4 back since the $38 was refunded to me when I did the exchange. I explained, nothing was refunded to me. It was applied to the new bag, then I paid the difference. So I’m supposed to get the $38 and $4 back. She went to get the small canvass bag to visually show me what happened during the exchange. Laughable! She still insisted it was refunded therefore, if I return the bag, which costs $45 by the way, the store will only refund me $4. I don’t handle stress very well. I got frustrated. I said, well I’m not returning this if you’re only giving me $4 back. As I was leaving, the manager says “Sorry I can’t explain it to you any better!”.
How is this hard to understand? If the $38 was refunded to me when I did the exchange, that would mean the bag that I was returning was sold to me for $4! Who in their right mind would charge a customer $4 for an item that costs $45. Make it make sense.

I had an amazing first shopping experience at L.L.Bean! I went looking for some pieces for my husband for our upcoming trip to Hawaii and Kyle was incredibly helpful.
He was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to help me find items that would be perfect for my husband and also gave great styling tips too. His suggestions were spot on and made my first experience to the store enjoyable and stress free.
Exceptional customer service like that really stands to me since it doesn't happen much often anymore. Thank you Kyle, for making my first L.L.Bean shopping experience such a great one!

My mother and I went in to look at some of the clothing (largely the sale rack) and an older woman who was an employee followed us the entire time. She stared at us while we were looking around, and did not say anything, giving us dirty looks. We did not carry any bags with us, so unsure what exactly she was doing.

First time at the new location after being a regular at Don Mills. Picked up a sweater, pants and socks. Great quality as always. Rochelle and the team were super helpful. Will definitely be back!
