  This has been one of our favourite stores at the Toronto Eaton Centre for a long time. We’ve bought jeans, T-shirts, pajamas, and other items here, and we’ve always enjoyed shopping here. Yesterday, I bought slippers for my daughter. At checkout, I asked the cashier for help understanding the sizing. She understood me and explained it. Then she asked where I was from and commented that I had “such an accent.” I found that comment unnecessary and hurtful. I came in as a customer to buy something and ask a simple question, and the remark made me feel uncomfortable. It’s disappointing because we’ve loved this store for years. I hope the staff will be more thoughtful about comments like this in the future.

  I came in to do a return and read the online policy beforehand and the staff were immediately very rude towards me. I work retail as well and understand how frustrating returns can be. I bought jeans online as I’m quite short and prefer the shorter options they provide in the app. Unfortunately, they ended up not fitting how I wanted but I had a trip so I decided to return them after as I still had some packages arriving and wouldn’t have been allowed to return them at the time due to the online policy. I returned them just past 30 days however online it states that they will give store credit. I asked the employee about the policy and she immediately snatched the item out of my hand and told me they only do exchange. I said oh well online the policy says this if you say I can’t then I guess I will leave. She wouldn’t give me back my item and was checking items that I could exchange it with when I fully said I would like to leave the store. When she finally gave me my item back I decided to go to Aerie and they kindly did the refund for me and stated that the policy I read is indeed correct. I would like to state that she was rude from the get go. Had black glasses, dark brown hair in a bun.

  Compared to how it was before 2019, the overall quality, selection, and upkeep have really declined. Another big issue is the lack of transparency around pricing and clothing options. If an item or size isn’t available in store and needs to be ordered online, they charge you the full in-store price even when the exact item is discounted online, without mentioning the lower online price. Based on my experience and similar comments in other reviews, it feels like the priority is making the sale rather than making sure customers understand their options and are getting the appropriate price. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, poorly managed, and unprofessional.
