  I visited the Polo Ralph Lauren store in Tanger’s with my friends, and we were just browsing, looking for a puffer jacket. Out of nowhere, we were surrounded by staff who assumed we were stealing, and it was really uncomfortable. We ended up leaving because we just felt so judged and unwelcome.

  I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an extremely upsetting and humiliating experience that my 13-year-old daughter and I had at the Ralph Lauren store at Tanger Outlets Ottawa on September 20, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM. My daughter and I visited the store to shop for clothing, and we selected four items to purchase. We then went to the checkout counter and proceeded with the transaction as normal. Just as we were about to complete the checkout, a female employee with curly hair suddenly approached the counter, interrupted the transaction, and told us that the store could not sell the items to us and that we could not complete the checkout. I was shocked and asked her why we were not allowed to make the purchase. However, she did not provide any explanation. Instead, she gave me a card and told me that if I had any questions, I should call the phone number on the card. The way this situation was handled was extremely rude, offensive, and humiliating. My daughter and I were left standing at the checkout counter, in front of other people, without any explanation as to why our purchase had suddenly been refused. Immediately afterward, I called the customer service number on the card and spoke with a customer service representative. I provided my phone number and email address and specifically asked whether there was any issue with my account that could explain why the transaction had been stopped. The representative checked and told me that there was no problem with my account. The representative was also unable to explain why the store had refused to complete my purchase. The customer service representative offered to speak directly with the employee to find out what had happened. I therefore returned to the store with the representative still on the phone. When I approached the employee and explained that I had a customer service representative on the phone who wanted to speak with her, her response was: “I can't talk with anybody.” She again refused to provide any explanation. I am requesting that Ralph Lauren formally investigate this incident, including reviewing what occurred at the checkout counter at approximately 5:30 PM on September 20, 2026. I would like a clear written explanation of why our transaction was stopped and why we were refused the opportunity to purchase the four items we had selected. I am also requesting a formal in person apology from the store for the way my daughter and I were treated. I sincerely hope Ralph Lauren takes this complaint seriously and provides me with an appropriate response and resolution. If I receive no meaningful response or explanation, I intend to share my experience publicly on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. I do not know whether other customers have experienced similar treatment, but I believe people should be aware of what happened to us so that others can avoid being subjected to the same experience.

  This is the worst-performing branch in Canada. A salesperson named John Chen and a Black manager were discriminatory towards Asians. I was told I couldn't buy a piece of clothing without any reason. How could A high-end brand like Polo have such terrible service? I will never go to this branch again. I went to Boss and Lululemon and bought more than ten items instead.

  Its like a totally the most annoying store. 3 or 4 staff eyeballing you keeps on asking you need bag its like being harassed to shop here avoid this place you will totally lose your mood when shopping. Management you guys have to tell your staff to just lay back a bit. Also, they are so weird
