  Employees walked away when I came in this morning. No one offered a smile or to help, despite lingering in one section & clearly trying to find a size for pants. Rude. Going back to online shopping!

  You get what you pay for. The place has a huge selection of outdoor gear for all seasons and apparel. I wandered in one day to check out their shoe collection and a sales staff named Katrin softly approached me and asked me if I needed help. At that point I was looking at an item that caught my eye, but she showed me others that I may have missed, which turned out to be unproductive. Nevertheless, Katrin continued to help me by getting the shoe size I requested and then offered information that really helped me seal the purchase.

  Had a really poor experience at the L.L.Bean Trainyards Ottawa store. I bought a sweater marked 60% off but was charged the wrong price. When I returned, the cashier initially insisted it was only 30% off, then confirmed it was 60% but didn’t apologize and was dismissive throughout. The interaction felt rude and unprofessional with her rolling her eyes. When I raised it with the manager who interfered, he defended the behavior, made excuses like she had worked all weekend and was European (!), and even followed me out of the store continuing the conversation after I asked him to stop. Being overcharged is one thing how it was handled was the real issue. I won’t be returning.

  Good quality sportswear here. I picked up a little vest which is great in the winter under my coat or in the spring when the coat comes off but I need a bit of warmth.
