Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, sneakers, accessories and athletic wear for teens and young adults in Ottawa - St Laurent. Sell styles you no longer wear for cash on the spot, or shop thrifted, secondhand, and resale fashion, including trendy, brand-name styles for less. With 500+ independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, fresh inventory arriving daily, Plato's Closet makes thrifting easy, affordable, and more sustainable.
I definitely do NOT recommend this Plato’s Closet if you’re trying to sell your clothes. Maybe try another location, because my experience at this one was honestly ridiculous.
About 85% of the clothes I brought in were BRAND NEW, and most of them STILL HAD THE ORIGINAL TAGS ON. They turned most of my items down because apparently they were “looking for sweaters.” Yet when you look at some of the clothes they actually have on display, some of the shirts look dirty, heavily worn, and in much worse condition than the brand-new items with tags that they refused from me.
They also offered me only $7 for 2 BRAND NEW pairs of heels and 2 BRAND NEW bags also with tags which comes out to basically $1.75 per item, just so they can turn around and sell them for around $20 each. Yeah, absolutely not.
In my experience, this is definitely one of the worst Plato’s Closet locations. Their buying process feels extremely inconsistent, and it honestly seems like they pick and choose depending on the customer rather than based on the actual quality and condition of the items. If you have good clothes to sell, especially brand-new pieces, I would recommend trying a different location.

I used to be really into Plato’s closet, but I just came back after not going for a few years and the prices have gotten more expensive. There were some clothing items that looked dirty or had things wrong with them, which I thought was strange because whenever I brought clothes to them they were always so picky, so how did that make it to the racks. They also don’t give you much money at all when you sell your clothes to them and then they sell it for triple the amount. I get it’s a business, but American eagle jeans I paid $60 for I deserve more than $5 for them. So anyways, I wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

I had a great experience at this Plato’s Closet location. They took their time going through my bag and carefully looked at all of my items. The customer service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout the process.
