I visited the Place d’Orléans store today regarding a canceled online order that was placed and paid for in-store. I brought my receipt, cancellation email, and the debit card I used for the purchase because I was hoping someone could look into the refund status.
Unfortunately, the employee never asked to see my receipt, cancellation email, or order number. He spoke to the manager and came back with what appeared to be a general policy, saying that refunds are typically sent by check and can take up to a month. However, nobody actually looked up my order or confirmed whether that information applied to my specific transaction.
I left the store with more questions than answers. I still don’t know whether my refund is being sent by check, refunded to my Visa Debit card, or whether a check has even been issued. I later contacted online customer support, and they escalated my order to the research team because they also could not immediately confirm the refund method.
My concern is not that refunds can take time. I understand that processing times exist. My concern is that my order was never verified before I was given an answer. I would have appreciated someone taking a few minutes to look up my transaction using my receipt or cancellation email so I could leave with accurate information about my specific order instead of a general policy.
