Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, sneakers, accessories and athletic wear for teens and young adults in London. Sell styles you no longer wear for cash on the spot, or shop thrifted, secondhand, and resale fashion, including trendy, brand-name styles for less. With 500+ independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, fresh inventory arriving daily, Plato's Closet makes thrifting easy, affordable, and more sustainable.
I went in to sell some clothes and was told it would be at least one hour, and that I would get a text when they are finished processing my stuff. Went in an hour later and waited until 5 minutes before close. Finally when they were done with other customers I asked them about my order and all they said was “all clothes should have been processed” and that we should have gotten a text about it already. Meanwhile I was in the store for 50 additional minutes waiting. They didn’t seem to have anything else do to, they were joking and laughing and I’m just waiting here for my stuff so I can get out of there. Wasting peoples time. In the end they only took one item.

I have had positive experiences shopping at Plato's Closet - the clothes are decently priced and they have great selections. However, whenever I try to sell clothes, sometimes they leave my bags untouched(literally as I packed it) and tell me how they are too old fashioned. I shop at Lulu, Aritzia, Shein, Urban Planet - to name a few. Maybe it's because I'm not a teenager or in my 20s, but at least look at the clothes before judging! I have also had them tell me once that my clothes had an odor. The odor would be laundry detergent since I washed them right before bringing them in. The staff are not the friendliest and could use training on customer service. Thank you!

I had a very disappointing experience at Plato’s Closet. The staff were extremely rude, and unprofessional, making me feel completely unwelcome. Based on how I was treated, I was left feeling that I was treated differently because of my race, which was deeply upsetting.
It was also a complete waste of time. They are incredibly selective, even with branded clothing that is in excellent condition. On top of that, the prices they offer are so low that it’s simply not worth selling there. You’re better off selling your clothes elsewhere where they’ll be valued fairly.
Customer service, respect, and fairness should be a priority. Unfortunately, this location failed in all three. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this store based on my experience.

Don’t waste your time!
They are super “selective” and will pass on brand new items, but will buy older ones for no reason. It’s always super subjective, either they take a lot or nothing at all, depends on the person sorting through the items.
You’re better off selling used clothing on Facebook marketplace or style 360 (a selective consignment store, also in London).
But if you value your time & energy, don’t come to platos closet - it’s just not worth it.

Their re-opening is soo good. If you’re a gym girl, you’ll find so many clothes for fitness. Lots of lulu and gymshark. I found 3 define jackets, all 30-40 bucks. Endless gymshark leggings and tops lol
