Horrible return policy at AE. And useless manager here. If you try on online orders at home and the tag falls off by accident and is wrong size, don't even try. Manager stands around like a patron on her phone and doesn't assist employees with upset customers. Walked in to this store with no greeting and only one customer being served at cash while the manager stood there on her phone. I even told the manager I had no idea she worked there (no name tag). Would not recommend purchasing or dealing with this store, they won't help you even if you are a NEW customer to American Eagle and have defective product on top of no tag returns. Customer service tried to pride themselves in denial of non-tagged returned items, meanwhile I received brand new jeans with a ripped zipper, had to drive 40 minutes to be told too bad. Will not purchase from this store or online anymore. AE get a grip. And the manager here needs to get off her phone and assist her store employees. You know who you are. 2 Stars because the employee handled it calmly and did what she had to do. I feel bad you had your manager stand there and stare and talk crap about the situation while it was happening. Shame on you.

I went to this location on Saturday (April 25/26) and tried on a few pairs of jeans. When I went to the change room, I had asked the associate (very pleasant) what she would like for me to do with the items that didn’t work out, she advised me to just leave them in there and they would take care of it. This didn’t strike me as out of the norm as the previous week, I was at the Masonville location and the associate there ALSO told me this. Please keep in mind that I’m in the room approximately three steps away from the table they use to fold the discarded clothing items until they can be put back in there correct spot. When I cam out, I left the clothes there as previously instructed and shopped around some more. While I was actively checking out, another associate who I assume took over the change room came out carrying the items I had left. She’s a mid 20’s brunette, maybe hispanic (?) sales associate. She proceeds to slam the items on the counter and complain to the woman ringing me through: “If you can see the change room is boiling over, why would you leave items in there? So unbelievably rude and disrespectful, like rude people should seriously try and work retail”. The tone she had in her voice was so off putting and almost … self righteous? Like she’s doing god’s work by putting a few pairs of jeans away. Now, I’m not sure she knew it was me who had left the items in there, but whether she knew or not ….. Maybe don’t have those conversations IN FRONT of customers? Especially when the thing you’re up in arms about was due to YOUR coworkers direction. Also, what difference would the three steps from the change room to the table make for you, realistically? I didn’t say anything in the moment and I probably should have, and had I not been mid way through a transaction, I probably would have left without purchasing anything. I won’t be returning based purely on the way this associate spoke regarding something so seemingly insignificant, if she’s comfortable being blatantly rude in front of customers, I can only imagine how she is behind the scenes.

the cashier who assisted me was quite rude and showed little to no customer service. There was no acknowledgment, or willingness to assist, which made the interaction uncomfortable.

Blond chick with Yankees hat makes a lot of snarky remarks a had a disappointing experience at American Eagle recently. One of the staff members made a comment telling us that we “should work retail,” and it came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of feeling welcomed as customers, we felt talked down to. Retail is about creating a positive and respectful environment, and this interaction missed the mark. I hope management reinforces better customer service standards so others don’t have a similar experience.
