  Very disappointing experience with American Eagle’s customer service, although the store manager, Melanie, was excellent! We ordered and paid for a top in store after being told it would arrive within 2–5 days. When it didn’t, my daughter called customer service. Two different representatives told her the order did not exist—even though she had the receipt—and both hung up on her when she questioned this. One even suggested she purchase the item again. I returned to the store, where Melanie confirmed that the order had been properly placed and contacted customer service herself. We then learned that, for some unexplained reason, the order had only been processed the previous night, nearly a week after we placed it. The customer service experience was unprofessional and concerning. Thankfully, Melanie was exceptional, professional, capable, and determined to resolve the problem. She found a solution and restored our confidence. Without her intervention, I would have been very reluctant to shop at American Eagle again.
