Merit Albums is a family-run business and always has been from the very beginning. Started by Max and Phyllis Polansky in 1956 in Massachusetts, later moving the company to a small location in Reseda, California.
The business was later sold on January 1, 1985 to Violet and John Bosak, Sr. when the Polansky's decided to retire. Violet worked with Max and Phyllis for five years while learning the business. John, however, bought his photographic supplies from the Polansky's for many years for his wedding and portrait business. Because the Bosak family has been in the photographic business for most of their lives, we know all aspects of the photographers needs. And as a result, we have celebrated our 68th Anniversary in business this year.
Since we are beginning our 68th year, we are continuing the tradition of offering our customers impeccable service with top-notch quality merchandise. We offer Renaissance, Tap, Tyndell, Neil Enterprise, and Pioneer products.
When calling Merit Albums, you will be talking to the owner or a family member. With over 50 years of experience, Violet is the best sales lady around. She knows her products like no other, has a great sense of humor, and aims to please everyone.

If you need a photography product they go beyond the call of duty to make their clients happy. I am 100% satisfied with their products and service. I worked with Violet over the phone/email to figure out how to get the product back to them and get the product I wanted. How do I say this...these folks are very down-to-earth and I feel like I'm working with a friendly hometown business that cares about their customers. It is refreshing over working with a "corporate" atmosphere and response. They are honest, helpful and they accommodated my needs. I haven't even sent the products back and received a refund...and I'm giving them a review on Google. Need I say more? I trust it will be taken care of. I will be ordering from this company again. Nothing was quite right, or too expensive. Found Merit Albums on the internet and called their 800 number. Violet was extremely helpful! She suggested TAP marble easels instead of mats. They are perfect, easy to use, and very affordable. The boss is thrilled. I would have never thought of the easels, much less found them without Violet's help.
