  Google Review ⭐ 1 star — Very disappointing experience at Sunglass Hut Avalon Mall I have been a Sunglass Hut customer since 2015, and I have purchased sunglasses from Sunglass Hut in different places, including the USA and Dubai. I have always had a good experience until I visited the Avalon Mall location. I purchased two pairs under the Buy 1, Get 40% Off the Second Pair promotion. I was paying around $199 per pair, so I expected to receive brand-new merchandise. When I was about to complete my purchase, Rashi told me that there was no new pair available and that the only one they could sell me was the display model. I checked the display sunglasses and noticed several scratches on the lenses. I told them I was not comfortable paying nearly $200 for a scratched display item and that I would cancel the purchase. Only after I was ready to walk away did they check the cabinet and find another new pair. Unfortunately, my experience did not end there. About 20 days later, my friend wanted to return her sunglasses because they did not fit her, and I wanted to exchange mine for a polarized pair. I was completely willing to pay the difference for the upgrade. The receipt clearly stated a 30-day return policy, and we were still within that period. When we went back, Rashi, who identified himself as an assistant manager, told me that my sunglasses could not be returned or exchanged because I had already worn them. I understand that there may be conditions regarding used merchandise, but the way this situation was handled was extremely disappointing, especially since I was not asking for a refund without reason—I was willing to exchange the sunglasses and pay additional money for a polarized pair. I was also very uncomfortable with how the situation was handled when I asked if another pair was available. I was told that Rashi would check the cabinet, but from what I could see, there was little effort to actually look before contacting a manager. Suddenly, there were concerns about scratches on my approximately 20-day-old sunglasses. The overall attitude and customer service were extremely disappointing. I spent hundreds of dollars at a Sunglass Hut store, not at a second-hand marketplace, and I expect the same level of service and professionalism that I have experienced from Sunglass Hut elsewhere. I also found it unprofessional that staff were having conversations in a language I did not understand while dealing with my situation. I don’t have an issue with anyone speaking their own language, but when employees are discussing a customer’s issue while the customer is standing right there, it can make the customer feel excluded and uncomfortable. I am a longtime Sunglass Hut customer, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. Sunglasses can cost hundreds of dollars, and customers deserve better service, transparency, and respect when spending that kind of money. Sunglass Hut corporate/management should seriously look into what is happening at the Avalon Mall location before this branch damages the reputation of the brand. After years of being a Sunglass Hut customer, this location honestly made me feel like I would have been better off buying sunglasses from Facebook Marketplace. Very disappointing experience. I am just so disappointed how Rashi make us feel where stupid on buying our used 400$ sunglasses
