I washed them for the first time one week ago, and after that single wash, the color faded significantly. A branded item at this price should not fade after one wash. When I returned to the store ALONG WITH THE RECEIPT, the associate (name spelled Dina) repeatedly questioned why I did not return them earlier. I explained that I had only washed them the week before. She continued to doubt my explanation and repeatedly asked if I had washed them only once. During the discussion, I told her I paid $75 for the jeans. She responded by saying I was wearing "$170 worth of jeans." I then said, “You can afford it, and I cannot afford it.” I found this exchange inappropriate and unrelated to the product issue. Comments about a customer’s clothing or finances are unprofessional. The return was refused because the leg opening area had been slightly modified for fitting purposes. However, this minor alteration has nothing to do with the discoloration after one wash. The issue is product quality, not the small adjustment to the leg opening. Additionally, the associate’s behavior was unacceptable. A store clerk should act professionally and respectfully — not like the owner or personal defender of Levi’s or JCPenney. Customers deserve courteous service, not interrogation or judgment. I request a formal review of this incident and a fair resolution.
