Jeweler Sam Boktor starting working in his father's jewelry store in Egypt when he was barely able to see over the front counter. That may be why he's not afraid to touch broken and bruised pieces that other jewelers deem "unfixable." Boktor's 8-year-old repair shop -- located in the center of downtown's teeming jewelry district -- is known for taking on problematic pieces and for its slick, made-to-order jewelry. The friendly proprietor, who moonlights at his new store, Galleria Jewelry and Watch Repairs at the Glendale Galleria mall, made bracelets for singer Jason Mraz's 2008 world tour and once crafted a custom wallet chain for Ricky Martin. Prices range affordable, and Boktor often doesn't charge for routine cleanings and "simple things." Friendly staff and the watch repair was great. The jewelry repair was pricey but Sam made sure I’m a happy customer. He went beyond his way to make it right and that means a lot in this business. I will return.

I had such a wonderful experience with Sam’s Jewelry & Watch Repairs. I came in to replace the battery in my watch, repair my vintage Chanel clip-on earrings, and fix a bracelet - and everything was done perfectly. The entire team was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Every person I interacted with was genuinely pleasant and made the whole process feel easy and comfortable. The quality of the work is outstanding - everything was repaired beautifully and with great care. I highly recommend Sam and his company. They are true professionals and such lovely people to deal with. I will 100% be coming back whenever I need any jewelry or watch repairs. Thank you again for such a great experience!

Went to Sam's on Jan 31st and pretty clearly described what I wanted done. My girlfriends opal ring was adjustable but one of the bands broke. I brought her and the ring in to get the stone set on a static band and to also get her ring size for said purpose. I described this all to the gentleman who was working at the time and it all seemed fine up until he was ushering us out and walking to the back without even getting her ring size (she had to ask him to take her size herself , since the band was originally adjustable there was no way for him to even do the work had she not said something). I figured it was just an innocent mistake though so I didn't think much of it. Later I received a text with a price estimate of $75, agreed to the price, and was told I would hear back. Two weeks later I happened to be out and about so I decided to shoot them a text to see about an update. I didn't get anything back for about 45 minutes to an hour so I gave them a call. After speaking with a lady for a short time I was passed off to who I believe was the original gentleman I spoke with. I was confused by this interaction because he started to say that they had been spending all this time thinking about how to do what I asked and that they had two options, neither of which even closely reflected the work that I asked to be done. The second option is the only one I remember clearly in which he said they would remove and replace the stone entirely? (I specified during my first visit that I literally just wanted the orignal stone and setting put onto a new band, super simple.) I expressed confusion and asked, "Wait, so you can't just put the original stone on a new band?" To which he responded, "Oh, that we can absolutely do. In that case we can have that ready for you today." So either he did not listen to me at all when I initially came in, or just completely forgot about it, or I dont know what else? I was admittedly a bit annoyed for a couple of reasons. Firstly after two weeks I was the one who reached out and got the ball rolling on what sounds like it was a three hour job at maximum. I would be more understanding if they were back up but the man said on the phone that they spent all that time thinking about how to do it. (I honestly think they just forgot about me and were trying to save face but thats just a hunch) secondly I was annoyed because after all that the man said the price for the repair would now be $125. I dont know how the price went up by fifty dollars when all they did was nothing, but so be it. It was just an estimate originally after all. The part that really sealed the deal for me though was that when we got into the store to pick up the ring the lady who gave us the ring and checked us out was incredibly dismissive and rude. Her attitude was as if I had put them out when I was the one who was ignored and treated rudely (while we were in the store another group was browsing and were being served nuts and wine while we were pushed out the door as fast as possible. I get they were shopping and we were just getting a repair done so there's a lot less cheddar on the line for us but to be rude to me also just states so clearly that they were biased against me for not spending as much money. Which I now never will because of the degree to how poorly I was treated. All in all I came in for a simple repair job and was forgotten and dismissed. Very disappointing. Also to top it all off they actually burned my girlfriends opal. So ultimately they didn't even do a good job. Don't come here if you just want a simple repair. Unless you're dropping some serious cash you don't exist to this establishment. I will attempt to add photos of the ring and conversation I had over text originally. I don't have a picture of the ring originally so you'll have to take my word for it but the ring was hot when they put it on her finger and they didn't disclose the burn so pretty sure they rushed it even after everything. She did like the band, so at least there's that haha

Had a great experience getting my heirloom emerald engagement ring sized down. Sam is clearly very experience and will make sure the sizing is exactly to your liking. Very happy with my ring, it fits perfectly now.
