- Reasonable pricing on select items, but y'all take security and organization of your store WAY too seriously. You guys aren't working at a Sephora or Target, it's a temporary pop-up store that will close when the lease is up and putting you back on the unemployment line when it's over. So relax, it's not that serious. You work in the Boyle Heights area, remember that. The Little Ceasars and Smoke Shop across the street have better trust in their customers than you do.
- The high school drop-out's you have running the registers, keep your comments to yourself. If we no longer want the items we have in our carts, why do you critique your customers for putting them down in misplaced areas? Isn't your job to re-stock? And people WILL shop with kids, so never give "Parenting" feedback for something as small as putting items in wrong spots, sweetheart.
- And a word of advice to the current owner. Maybe have your cameras out of Guest view so we don't feel monitored and uncomfortable looking at items. Treating the store like a museum. Basically "look but don't touch" is the policy.
To my Boyle Heights/East LA Community, if you're looking for bargaining without the judgement or criticism, visit the far better Bargain Bin store located just a few minutes away from this terribly owned store at 3613 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90063

They have a lot of products but kind of expensive. Good to get some stuff but just for school supplies are fair pric.

Bad experience. I came here today for the first time with my daughter. She decided to try on some jeans over her clothes(she do this in other stores maybe I'm wrong but since she sat on the floor to take them off one of the stuff members came over two times and told me I HAD to buy the jeans because they were dirty although they were not. By law they can't force you to buy things you don't want to but because I didnt want to start a problem I agreed but my daughter was about to cry since she felt guilty. I don't reccomend this store and will not shop here again.

I visited the discount store after a quick visit to the public library, when I realized I needed a new notebook. I had no clue the 99 cent store was no longer there. While browsing, I picked up a few cosmetic supplies and proceeded to head toward the school supply aisle.
At that point, the cashier raised her voice and instructed me to return the cosmetics to the front of the store, stating “makeup supplies always stay up front”. I was unaware of the store policy, but the manner which I was instructed made me feel singled out and uncomfortable because people turned to look at me as if my intention was to steal.
I was still going to buy the notebook when I realized I should not give my hard earned money to places that have such harsh theft prevention policies. I know people steal, but it is inappropriate to treat all customers with suspicion or to communicate policies in a way that feels accusatory.
I have lost count of how many Asian owned businesses in our neighborhood (Boyle Heights & East LA) that always manage to make me feel unwelcome growing up, the fact that this continues to happen is problematic.
You should not be allowed to profit from brown neighborhoods if you’re going to assume we’re all criminals.
