- AMAlyhed MoralesNov 1, 20251.0My experience was terrible, not only did I arrive early to my appointment but I was being harassed all week to not miss my appointment. I get there and the mechanic was no where to be found, he didn’t arrive till 30 mins after my appointment time, he had no idea how to install the device in my car, he was given a video on YouTube to “help”. When they were finally finished they charged me $395 to install the device! I was so upset and when I complained that it was a scam the women(Priscilla) told me in a very rude way, that maybe I shouldn’t have been drinking and driving. Horrible humans! I will not be returning!

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
