  It is such a shame because we really wanted to enjoy our time, but the interaction at the checkout was quite upsetting. The employee at the checkout was unfortunately very rude and lacked the professionalism you would expect, which immediately cast a shadow over our visit. I’m frustrated that we didn’t catch her name at the time to provide more specific feedback, but the experience was unpleasant enough that it really stood out. A little more courtesy at the front desk would have made a world of difference in how our day started.

  I was shopping at the Michael Kors store in the Folsom Premium Outlets with my 3 and 5 year-old children when an employee told me to leave because my toddler was crying. The store wasn’t crowded, and my child’s behavior was normal for their age. I left feeling humiliated and discriminated against. No parent should be treated this way — it felt like a violation of basic customer rights and protections under the Civil Rights Act. I hope Michael Kors reviews this incident seriously and provides better training for their staff on compassion and inclusivity.

  Dear Management, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an incident at your Folsom Premium Outlets location on November 10. While shopping with my 3- and 5-year-old children, an employee identified as “Jen” approached me and asked us to leave because my toddler was crying. The store was not crowded, and my child’s behavior was normal for their age. I left feeling humiliated, singled out, and discriminated against — possibly due to my race/skin color. This treatment is unacceptable. I request a full investigation into the conduct of the employee involved and the steps management will take to ensure staff are trained to treat families and customers of all backgrounds with dignity and respect. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 14 days, I will pursue the following actions: • File a written complaint with the California Civil Rights Department (or equivalent state agency) and the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division; • Submit formal complaints to Michael Kors corporate, Folsom Premium Outlets management, and the outlet mall administration; and • Publicly share my experience on major review platforms (Google, Yelp, Facebook) and with local consumer/media outlets. I would prefer to resolve this directly with store management first and I request written confirmation that this matter is being investigated and what corrective steps will be taken.   I had a fantastic experience at MK store at folsom, all thanks to the exceptional service provided by Caleb. He went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I needed, demonstrating impressive product knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. Caleb was patient, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the entire shopping process truly enjoyable.
