  My college aged son and I were in the irvine store this morning at 10am. He is on the bigger side, and sometimes has a tough time finding clothes that fit him right so we thought we might try a big and tall store.. We were shopping for a sport coat for an up and coming event and the young lady in the store was so helpful. She informed us that everything in the store was actually going to be sized TOO big for him he wasn't going to find anything. She recommended a couple alternative stores that we might try. And, here's the kicker... she offered him to be fitted on their digital fitting machine... even though she knew we weren't going to buy anything. That machine digitally measured his arm's length's chest neck et cetera, and she wrote it down on a card so we could use it as we're shopping somewhere else. It was an amazingly nice gesture and proved to be super helpful. In today's day and age, it's tough to find someone who is so helpful and who really cares... I only wish I had gotten her name. One more note... the store was attractive, impeccably merchandised and well stocked 😉

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 — Highly Recommend I’ve been to the DXL in Escondido many times, and I keep coming back for a reason. In the photo with this review, I’m wearing a DXL shirt, a DXL undershirt, DXL dress pants, and Skechers I bought from the store—so yeah, this place basically outfits me head to toe. Side note: I also have another review on my Google profile about taking those Skechers to a cobbler because there was a small fabric issue right out of the box. After that quick fix, they became my favorite shoes—super comfortable, and I wear them all the time. The clothes here fit well, the vibe is relaxed, and the staff is genuinely kind and helpful. Damien helped me before and again today, and he’s been great every time. If you’re a plus-size guy looking for a chill, no-pressure place where someone will actually help you get properly outfitted, this is the spot. Yes, it’s a bit pricey—but let’s be real: if you can find consistently good-fitting clothes as a bigger guy at places like Nordstrom Rack, more power to you. For me, DXL is the reliable option. If you’re on a budget, just be upfront—they’ll help you find sale items and work with what you’ve got. If you’re in North County—Escondido, Vista, San Marcos, etc.—this is absolutely worth the trip.
