  Brought a buyer to Audemars Piguet at South Coast Plaza following the close of escrow on a Laguna Beach bluff home — we'd planned a proper celebration. AP is in a class of its own in the watch world, and this boutique does the brand full justice. The space is elegant and minimal, letting the watches speak for themselves. The staff were deeply knowledgeable without being in the slightest bit condescending — they took real time with us, explaining the history of the Royal Oak and the technical achievements behind each piece. My client settled on a Royal Oak Selfwinding that he will wear for decades. As a luxury real estate broker regularly working with discerning buyers throughout Orange County, Audemars Piguet at South Coast Plaza is a destination I return to again and again. Exceptional in every respect.

  I’ve been a long-time admirer of Audemars Piguet and especially the iconic Royal Oak. Like many enthusiasts, I believed that building a genuine relationship with a boutique over the years would eventually lead to the opportunity to purchase one. However, my experience with the boutique at South Coast Plaza has been deeply discouraging. It’s difficult to understand how some individuals are able to acquire large quantities of watches—sometimes 10 to 20 pieces per month—while loyal clients wait for years without receiving a single allocation. Meanwhile, many of those watches quickly appear on the secondary market at significantly inflated prices. When the same names repeatedly gain access to high-demand pieces, it raises serious concerns about fairness and transparency in the allocation process. For those of us who have patiently tried to build authentic, long-term relationships with the boutique, it feels disheartening to see what appears to be a system that favors volume buyers and resellers over genuine collectors. The idea of exclusivity loses its meaning when access seems so uneven. At this point, after years of waiting without results, it’s hard not to consider exploring other brands where the purchasing process feels more transparent and equitable. Collecting watches should be an enjoyable experience—not one that leaves customers feeling overlooked or undervalued.

  Rude SA, doesn’t reply to emails or phone calls. They think they’re high and mighty selling a watch and want buyers to kiss up. Good luck when the market turns.
