  Disappointing experience with my Maui Jim purchase I purchased three pairs of sunglasses from this Sunglass Hut - two Ray-Bans and one Maui Jim. The Maui Jim pair had to be ordered because there was no new/fresh piece available in the store. When I picked up the Maui Jim, I was in a hurry because I was travelling internationally and had a flight to catch shortly afterward. The attendant asked whether I wanted the box. Since I had limited space and was rushing to the airport, I said I only needed the sunglasses, case, and cleaning cloth. About an hour later, while I was at the airport, I noticed smudges and what appeared to be small dents/marks on the Maui Jim sunglasses. This was surprising because I had only picked them up a short time earlier. At that point, I wasn’t accusing the store of giving me the display/showpiece. I simply wanted some reassurance because I had specifically been told that a new pair was being ordered for me. I contacted the store and asked if they could verify that the pair I received was the same new product that had been ordered for me and not the display pair. I was even willing to accept something as simple as confirmation or documentation showing that it was the newly received pair. What made me more concerned was that I had purchased the two Ray-Bans at the same time and had been using them for about five days before picking up the Maui Jim. The Ray-Bans still looked completely new, whereas the Maui Jim already had noticeable smudges and marks within an hour of pickup. Initially, I was told that this could be verified and that I shouldn’t worry about it. However, when I asked if the verification could be provided by email, I was told that this was not possible, and call was cut by the attendant and I called them again. When I called again shortly before my flight, I was particularly disappointed by the smirking/laughing and the way my concerns were handled, including comments that made me feel like my request for reassurance was unreasonable or crazy. I had just spent almost $400 CAD on one pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, apart from those two raybans!! so I don’t think asking for reassurance about whether I received the new pair I had ordered was unreasonable. In the end, I didn’t want to let this situation ruin my trip or my mood before travelling back to see my family. I simply wished the employee the best and decided to live with the issue. My concern isn’t even that they necessarily gave me the display pair - I cannot confirm that. My disappointment is that when I raised a reasonable concern about the condition of a brand-new, newly ordered pair, I couldn’t get a simple assurance or verification. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. When customers spend this kind of money on premium products, the product itself matters, but so does the confidence and trust that comes with the purchase. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to purchase another premium pair from this location. I’ve attached a few photos for reference, although the marks may not be very clear. I took them in the airplane bathroom while trying to get the right lighting, with the plane moving.
