I had a great shopping experience at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet today. There were many great brands and deals. I bought a watch and two pairs of sneakers, and enjoyed a coffee at Starbucks. A clean and lovely place for shopping and spending a nice day.

This is the perfect place to spend a few hours before heading to the airport. It is only 3 minutes from YVR. Visit the Information Center first to get a "Fashion Passport" for extra discounts and special offers. If you are flying with Air China, you can get a 10% VIP discount card at Guest Services. Don't miss the churro ice cream sandwich or a Japa Dog for a fun snack. The outdoor village has tree-lined streets, piazzas, and a beautiful dancing fountain. It is a lovely place to walk around. It can get crowded on weekends and during big sales, so visit early for a relaxed experience.

It’s always nice to be back in Richmond and this place! McArthurGlen never disappoints when it comes to a great day out. The open-air, European village-style layout makes for such a pleasant walking and shopping experience, especially on a nice day.
There is a fantastic selection of high-end brands, and it is easy to find some consistently solid deals. Plus, there are plenty of great dining options and cafes when you need to grab a bite and take a break from the racks. The grounds are always clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of being vibrant yet relaxed. Whether you are hunting for a specific designer item or just browsing, it is always worth the trip!

The selection of stores is decent for Vancouver. While it may not be world-class, it still offers a good variety and is worth visiting.
Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. During my recent visit, I went to the customer service counter to ask about the tourist coupon. The staff member—a heavier Chinese lady with a Mandarin accent—was not welcoming or helpful. Rather than explaining how to obtain the coupon, she gave very little information, and I had to keep asking different questions just to figure out the process myself.
Customer service staff should be approachable, informative, and willing to assist visitors. In this case, the experience was the opposite, which left a poor impression.
I hope this issue can be addressed, as Vancouver is known for being a friendly and welcoming city, and the service should reflect that reputation.

Had a bit of an unfortunate experience on my May 29, 2026 visit involving the bearing and deportment of the store manager. Had a chance to discuss it with the District Manager, and I was satisfied with the response and acknowledgement. Details below.
--
Visited May 29, 2026 (~5:00-5:30pm) to make a partial return (separate receipts) of my May 18, 2026 purchases.
While I understand that at times there can be pressures of individual store-level and individualized sales targets even in the absence of a commission structure, in any customer facing role — whether it be by a regular store employee or a manager — an individual’s professional bearing and deportment matters. Each interaction is an investment into future sales conversions and an ongoing relationship, regardless of the objectives or outcomes of the current visit.
As I had also mentioned I’ve always been very impressed with the layout of QE Home B&M location and how knowledgeable the staff are in order to simplify the selection process and to make meaningful pairing options and it is perfectly fine and reasonable for a store associate to wish to turn a return into another conversion. I’ve always had the notion that QE home would be my first go-to for bedding solutions where I’d get to see and feel exactly what I was purchasing. However my visit on May 29, 2026 was impactful enough to make me feel that I didn’t want to ever return for fear that my experience that day would be replicated.
The major concerns that were discussed were the following:
1. BEARING AND DEPORTMENT - The store manager didn’t seem very pleased with the fact that I was returning an unopened sheet set and duvet cover set. I made this decision after returning home and discovering that I already owned an unopened set that I had purchased last year in a similar colour. This was visible in tone and body language.
2. FINAL SALE Execution- I made a purchase of felt tote bins during the visit, which were on sale for 20% off. I am open to being corrected on this but as far as I recall, I was not told that it was a final sale item until after payment was processed. I was just told it was final sale after the receipt printed and it was stamped with the final sale stamp. I found this particularly peculiar as it did not seem to conform with the policies on final sale items as written on the receipt, and something about the manner in which the message was delivered felt vindictive. Like petty retribution. This is what triggered the call to QE home to confirm policies, where I was told that it should not have been marked final sale. You also were able to confirm this to me and that the application of the final sale stamp is not discretionary at the store level. Given this confirmation, I feel this is conduct that is unbecoming of a manager’s station.
3. WITHOLDING ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT COPY - The last matter I found to be a bit off was after receiving my refund receipt, I was not given back my copy of the original sales receipt. I asked about this and the store manager said, “but there’s nothing left on it.” This was a point of friction in the interaction. The store has its own copy of the original sales transaction. That is my copy for my own bookkeeping.
I’m willing to give the store another opportunity, but still feeling somewhat hesitant given the experience. Furthermore, I’m concerned about how this manager carries herself when it comes to overall employee morale as well. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of checking in. Sometimes it’s just a bad day. Sometimes, it’s taking 10 for a breather. I’m not here to assume or judge what may have motivated this experience but I’m glad the district manager was able to listen to and acknowledge the experience.
