  definitely check what your buying before you have to return or exchange them as they will not honor their own prices even less than 24 hours later. I purchased a salmon fishing flasher and once I got home and opened the package I noticed one of the welded rings on the swivel wasnt properly welded closed so the swivel could pull straight off the flasher. Returned the next morning with it back in the bag and the flashers went up $2.60 overnight and they wouldn't exchange unless I paid the difference.... one day later....

  I was shopping and this guy spooked me and I almost dropped my vase. This guy was walking around yelling, sounded like goku going super saiyan. I almost lost my hearing, some guy shopping was also very confused what was going on. This very strange man ruined my experience here, store wasn’t bad but that just ruined my experience.

  Bass Pro has it all for the sports fisherman or hunter. Great selection of all the brand names in gear. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff.

  Very unwelcoming and unprofessional service. This has been my go to store for 15 years, and today I’m rethinking. Went up to the counter to ask for a product that was shown to be in stock at the Nanaimo location online. The lady said “well do you see it? No? Then we don’t have it.” When I pulled up the website to show it was in stock in Nanaimo, she insisted that I had the wrong website and her system doesn’t lie, getting more agitated as I tried to explain that I was in fact on the correct website and cutting me off as I tried to speak. When I turned my phone to show her “in stock, nanaimo bass pro,” she just said “my system doesn’t lie, you’re wrong.” It’s one thing to have a broken website that shows positive stock when there is none, but to have the worker act snarky and treat me as if I was calling her a liar was ridiculous. It’s a shame as this was my go to store and generally all my interactions with the staff has been positive. But I couldn’t believe how off putting her behaviour towards me was, and sadly, as she’s in the section I shop in most and do not wish to have another rude and unprovoked encounter, I’ll have to shop elsewhere for the time being.

  Had an incident with a dog growling and lunging at my toddler and myself. Owner had their dog on its hind legs and still couldn't control it. Told manager after employees that were close by did not know what to do or how to proceed. We immediately left store. I called head office and was told to email. Emailed on July 19, 2026 never heard back. The store markets itself as dog friendly but no one was trained to handle a dangerous situation. This has left my toddler with a fear of dogs that he didn't have beforehand.
