  I love this store. I often buy clothes without trying it on and have never had a problem when needing to exchange it. The staff is friendly and there is always something new to see. The store is clean. Unfortunately the women’s restroom always needs tidying up. Many times I’ve walked in to messy sinks and over flowing trash bins.

  I wasn’t aware that shopping at Nordstrom’s first-floor men’s department required meeting certain unspoken criteria. A female associate with short hair and a darker complexion seemed to have already decided I didn’t qualify. While others received prompt attention, I was met with indifference, curt responses, and a level of disengagement that spoke volumes. It’s fascinating how “legendary customer service” can disappear so selectively. If this was an example of profiling rather than poor training, it’s a serious issue. Either way, the experience was a quiet but clear message that not all customers are treated equally—and that’s disappointing, though unfortunately not surprising.

  I had a really disappointing experience at this Nordstrom, specifically in the shoe department. I came in with my mom looking for On Clouds or Hokas for my clinicals. The sales associate who helped us was an older 50s-60s aged, thin, white woman with short brown hair who seemed friendly at first, but quickly became increasingly annoyed as I tried on shoes. I asked to try a few different pairs and colors, which is completely normal when buying work shoes, and she clearly lost her patience. She also acted irritated when my mom asked for her size (I told my mom she should try the On Clouds, because if she liked them I would come back for them as a mother's day gift). I made sure to neatly stack all the shoes, put the stuffing back inside, and cover them with the paper while waiting for her, since she ignored us for about 10 minutes. When I eventually went up to her and said, “I think I’ll just try Hokas,” she cut me off mid sentence and said, “You know what, I’m just going to bring you some shoes, and if you don’t like them I can’t help you anymore,” while shaking her head and grabbing the pile of shoes. I was honestly shocked. She then came back with Hokas that weren’t even my size and said, “If you don’t like these, you won’t like any other shoe here.” At that point, I didn’t even bother trying them on and decided to leave. My mom doesn’t speak English well, but even she immediately recognized this old lady was being rude to me. As a customer, it feels extremely embarrassing and discouraging to be treated like a burden when you’re simply trying to make a purchase. I left without buying anything because I didn’t want to give commission to someone who treated us that way. Customer service like this is unacceptable and I hope she will be talked to.
