I have been visiting this location monthly for the last 2 years and their service and attitude of their employees is consistently poor. Every time I bring items in to sell, they are brought to them organized and tidy/ folded in the bags and when I get them back, things are shoved and tousled and an absolute Mess. I also have discontinued bringing them certain types of bags with zippers because on more than 1 occasion they have caused damage to the bags and zippers. I have politely mentioned the state of the bags on more than 1 occasion and each time been responded to in a snooty disrespectful way. Items that I would get 10-15$ for at the elbow drive or varsity locations, the NE location offers me less than half for. I understand the close proximity for some have them choosing this location but save yourself the poor customer service and bad attitudes and visit one of the other locations instead.
this plato’s had some of the best staff i’ve ever seen! the man at the till was able to process my return quickly and efficiently, made great conversation, and even recommended nearby places to grab lunch at to my friend and i. very friendly and welcoming environment, tidy and professional. will definitely be back!

I am incredibly frustrated with my experience at this Plato's Closet. I spent hours sorting through my wardrobe, washing everything, and neatly folding a large bin of high-quality, modern, brand-name clothes. Because thats is their rules When I brought them in, the staff barely looked through the items before rejecting the entire batch within just a few minutes.and they took only 1 .. It was completely dismissive, and they gave no helpful explanation other than a generic "it's not what we're looking for right now."What makes it worse is looking around their sales floor while I waited. The racks are absolutely packed with stained, outdated. It makes no sense how they reject mine . The entire process felt like a massive waste of my time .. . If you want to clear out your closet, save yourself the hassle, skip the terrible customer service, and sell your clothes online or take them to a different shop that actually values your TIME!!!!!!!DONT GO HERE ..THEY ARE WASTING TIME!!!!!!!!!

Wasted 4 hours of my time and their time as well because of their system, bought in some items to sell , around 10 items , did not explain the sell policy. Refused 9 out of 10 items.
Visit 1 (April 2026):
▪︎ Spent over $650 this vist
▪︎ Most employees seem friendly and helpful
▪︎ Clean store, good selection of merchandise, Most items were in good condition & clean.
THE ISSUE:
▪︎ One item - $50 Boots sitting on display shelf behind the counter "boutique area" had handmade price sign of $50 w/ brand, name, price listed on it.
▪︎ At check out, boots rang in at $70 so we pointed to $50 price on the shelf with the boot, assuming they would honor the price they had on it - like most stores would.
▪︎ They said the price on their big display was wrong and refused to honor it. Shocked, I said that it wasnt right to display a price and not honor it.
▪︎ The girl asked if i wanted her to call owner (Cynthia Wittiger) who "just got back from vacation". I said yea, out of principle. Initially owner said no to honor the price on boot. After going back and forth for couple mins about $20 price difference, owner offered to do $65 ($5 off) 🙄
▪︎ One of the employees (not naming them for obvious reasons) apologized and said we were 100% right and they should be honoring price.
*Initially we said we wouldnt go back to this location, but decided to give them a second chance since it was an otherwise good store/experience the first time.
Visit 2 (June 2026):
▪︎ Spent $300+ this time
*First $98 was "Clearance items" 70% off. (South Calgary - different owner) had a better, Amazing 70% off and every 3rd clearance item for FREE sale (70% off is basically what they pay original owner for the item)
▪︎ Store was still clean & organized.
▪︎ Most items again in good condition and clean. (No dog poop or wear holes thru shoe soles like Platos Northwest)
THE ISSUE (AGAIN!!):
▪︎ As cashier was scanning the Clearance items (probably had about 20 clearance items) she stopped and looked at the computer then the tag and said it wasnt on clearance - someone had put clearance sticker on "by mistake" cause it was "purchased in May". Then again for the next item. And the next. And the next....
▪︎ Literally FIVE of our "Clearance" items they claimed were marked Clearance "by mistake".
▪︎ We were absolutely stunned - especially after our first visit with the "wrong price" on the boots.
▪︎ We pointed out the same "wrong price tag" thing happened with the boots last time, and another cashier (the rude one with a whole bunch of facial piercings all over her face) started interjecting here with a very rude attitude saying it happens all the time, their employee made a mistake and they arent going to honor the clearance pricing.
RIDICULOUS:
▪︎ Literally right after they told us 5 of our 20+ items were marked wrongly as "Clearance", the rude cashier was cashing out the people next to us and tells them that one of their items was marked as clearance "By Mistake" too! The customer looked at us in disbelief like "what the heck is happening here" and just shook their head. That person chose to buy the item anyways after disbelief, the employee took a pair of scissors, opened them up and scratched off the clearance tag saying "I'll take this clearance sticker off so if you have to return these, at least they wont question why it has a clearance sticker and give you problems"
▪︎ The same employee (rude girl) started telling people that just walked in about their "clearance sale" and that "anything with a clearance tag is 70% off". So i kindly mentioned "unless they decide the item ISNT on clearance once you get to the counter like they did with these 5 items in my hand and the 1 item the people beside us have).
Wont be going back!
GO TO THE PLATOS SOUTH:
▪︎ Employees are great
▪︎ They dont seem to have deceptive pricing like this location!!!
