  Really disappointed with my experience at this location Plato’s Closet. I’ve only shopped here once, and that one experience was enough for me to know I won’t be coming back. The staff were not friendly or welcoming at all, and the customer service was extremely lacking. I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. I understand that stores can be busy, but basic friendliness and customer service should still be expected. Unfortunately, the overall attitude made the experience uncomfortable, and I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

  I have been coming to this location for a few years, but my recent visit will be my last. I brought in a selection of clean, minimal-wear clothes and shoes to sell. Knowing the inventory they carry, I was shocked when staff rejected almost every item, including shoes that were in better condition than what was currently on their sales floor. I browsed the racks while they rummaged through my clothes. I overheard a male staff member training a new employee with the advice to "just look for something wrong with it." While I understand the need for quality control, instructing staff to actively hunt for faults is sad. This "find a flaw" approach damages customer relations, encourages staff to overlook actual brand and style value, and fosters a toxic "us vs. the seller's junk" workplace culture. When buyers are trained to look for reasons to reject rather than fairly evaluate inventory, the store loses out on quality stock and loyal customers. Lastly, please train (or remind, and then remind again) your staff to return unaccepted clothing in the same condition it was received. As a retail buisness, basic care like neatly folding items before placing them back in the bag, should be standard procedure. Receiving my clothes back crammed into my bag as if they were tossed in by a child was disrespectful and unprofessional.

  I have been visiting this location monthly for the last 2 years and their service and attitude of their employees is consistently poor. Every time I bring items in to sell, they are brought to them organized and tidy/ folded in the bags and when I get them back, things are shoved and tousled and an absolute Mess. I also have discontinued bringing them certain types of bags with zippers because on more than 1 occasion they have caused damage to the bags and zippers. I have politely mentioned the state of the bags on more than 1 occasion and each time been responded to in a snooty disrespectful way. Items that I would get 10-15$ for at the elbow drive or varsity locations, the NE location offers me less than half for. I understand the close proximity for some have them choosing this location but save yourself the poor customer service and bad attitudes and visit one of the other locations instead.
