  Really disappointed with this experience, especially considering what Edible Arrangements charges for their products and delivery. I placed the order early this morning for my uncle’s 80th birthday, so it would already be there when the store opened, and paid for same-day delivery. Despite having the order all day, the first delivery attempt wasn’t made until 5:00 p.m. Not surprisingly, no one was home — it was 5 p.m. on his birthday. The driver called me and gave me three options: leave the fresh fruit and balloons outside, bring it back to the store for my uncle to pick up himself, or leave it with a neighbour. I agreed to the neighbour option, assuming that meant trying one of the homes immediately beside him. Instead, the driver went two houses down and handed my uncle’s 80th birthday gift to someone I don't know and have no idea whether my uncle even knows. The delivery photo made the whole thing even more uncomfortable. The woman looks genuinely confused, like she has just had this package handed to her and doesn't understand what is going on, while the driver takes a photo of her holding it. I understand that Edible Arrangements does not guarantee a specific delivery time. But there is a big difference between not guaranteeing a specific time and waiting until 5 p.m. to make the first delivery attempt for a birthday order that had been placed before the store even opened. If you're charging a premium for a birthday delivery, there needs to be some thought put into actually getting the gift to the recipient. A phone call earlier in the day could have avoided this entire situation. Instead, I spent a significant amount of money to have a special gift delivered for my uncle's birthday, only to have it handed to someone two houses away at 5 p.m. For the price I paid, this was nowhere near the experience I expected.
