  I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this DSW location was very disappointing. During checkout, I was told that my email address was required. Even after providing it, I was then told my phone number was also required, despite my saying I preferred not to share it. For a simple purchase, this felt unnecessarily pushy. After I declined to purchase a shopping bag, the cashier completely avoided eye contact, slid the shoe box toward me, and handed me my receipt in a way that felt dismissive. I left feeling like I was treated differently from other customers. To make matters more confusing, I overheard another cashier telling a different customer that the shopping bag was $1, while I was told it was $2. I like the Clarks shoes I purchased, but the customer service was disappointing enough that it overshadowed an otherwise pleasant shopping experience. I hope DSW provides more consistent service and treats every customer with the same level of respect.

  Staff need serious training on basic professionalism and customer service standards, especially associate 49772. The interaction was rude and unprofessional.

  If you want to try on any shoe they require you to ask an associate for help (to get the left shoe) but then have little to no employees actually walking around to do so. It's a pretty big store and having to walk from one end all the way over to the cash registers (to find them standing around just chatting with one another) was quite annoying and I was tempted to just not even bother getting shoes. But then when I finally got help to buy the shoes, I HAD to give a phone number and email "for their records". I expressed I didn't really want to give an email because I don't like being subscribed to emails, but she reassured me I wouldn't be. I even clicked a screen at check out to not subscribe me. Well that was all a lie because I immediately got an email from them later that day asking me to create an account with them, as I was now subscribed to them. Honestly it was all an incredibly frustrating experience and I wouldn't shop with them again.

  Some of the staff could use basic customer service training. Not sure if I witnessed racism or simply apathy. Either way, it was a negative experience and bad enough that I didn't want to return to the store when I later realized we may have forgotten something inside. Thankfully, I found the missing item at the first place we visited. Didn't expect this to occur while shopping in the mall and with really young children in the mix. Disappointing. Please, do better. Or get some help.
