  Worst customer service and terrible quality control. I recently purchased a Black Caviar Vanity Bag at the Calgary Holt Renfrew CHANEL boutique while traveling from Ontario. Since it looked like a floor display model, I initially hesitated, but the Sales Associate explicitly assured me that I could exchange it at any Chanel boutique across Canada within 14 days if needed. However, when I brought the unopened package to the Toronto Yorkville boutique for a straight exchange, the Toronto manager strictly refused it. She confirmed a noticeable abrasion on the CC metal logo and a glue mark on top of the bag, officially deeming the item in an 'unsellable condition' due to manufacturing and boutique-level defects. To make matters worse, the packaging was completely incomplete—the bag pouch was just tossed inside the box without the standard tissue paper wrapping. When I contacted the Calgary boutique to resolve this, the Assistant Manager completely shifted the blame onto me. She aggressively claimed it was "my fault" for buying the bag despite its condition and condescendingly stated that attempting a cross-province exchange was "not common sense." Cruelly, she even accused me of damaging the bag myself during my travel, saying, "How do we know you didn't damage it during your travel back to Toronto?” to cover up their own failure in quality control. She then made the completely unreasonable and unrealistic demand that I must physically fly back to Calgary from Ontario to visit the store in person if I wanted a resolution - also told me not sure for an exchange as it is not an original condition. It is deeply disappointing that this management team uses defensive tactics to deflect blame and treat a legitimate customer with suspicion just to cover up their own quality control failures. They do not honor CHANEL’s nationwide exchange policy and show an absolute lack of professionalism. The General Manager is supposedly scheduled to contact me on July 3rd, but given how defensive and unhelpful they have been so far, I have very low expectations that anything will actually change or be resolved. **** If you are planning to purchase a high-end piece here, check every single detail or avoid this location entirely. **** Absolutely unacceptable.

  Chanel in Calgary is by far the most welcoming boutique I’ve ever walked into. I specifically chose Ginger as my SA after reading her amazing reviews, and she was absolutely worth flying in for. She has exceptional customer service and is patient, honest, warm, and genuinely wants you to be happy with your purchase. Her attention to detail and her ability to understand her clients speak volumes. I’m so happy I found her and will continue flying in for future pieces. Thank you, Ginger, for such an amazing experience!
