We bought shoes here for my son three months ago and they have fallen apart. When I brought in the shoes to return, as it appears to be a manufacturing issue, the staff were unwilling to help. No reason provided as to why they couldn't. No customer service.

Was in the DSW store in Saanich just after noon today. Oh my goodness such fantastic service. The young man was the assistant manager (I didn’t get his name). He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was able to give me several options for size 15 mens. I will definitely be back.

Pretty good selection of shoes but they have removed one shoe from half of the boxes so you need to ask them to go and get the other shoe to try it on, the problem is if it's busy you need to wait for someone to get to you, and in our case they seemed unsure of where to find the other shoe. Finally, when went to pay, the first thing they did was ask for my phone number. I don't give out my phone number to buy shoes, but they really pressed me for it and promised there would be no spam calls. They said they "needed it to create an account for me so that I could return the shoes if there was a problem with them". Really, my receipt isn't good enough if there is a problem? I grudgingly gave my phone number just to get out of there with my shoes, and then they asked for my email address. No, no way. I refused and again they insisted they needed it for my account. I don't need a bloody account to buy shoes! I don't want to give you my phone number and email address because these days of course you sell those things to data brokers. I refused 4 times before they then took my money for the shoes. So suddenly this information they "must have" suddenly wasn't necessary. What they hell are you guys doing asking for email addresses and phone numbers, and pressing so hard for it in the line up? You sell shoes, keep it simple.

Incredible service experience at this place. I bought some $80 Aldo shoes about 4 months ago (I thought it was 2 months ago 😅) and I guess I was... wearing them too much? Because they were starting to open up near the front. I came in to see how they could help me and the woman who was there allowed me to exchange my shoes for another pair, minus the difference in cost. She also gave me an extra pair of shoelaces. I'm very happy with my experience here and I will be back to buy more shoes and boots. The customer service is always friendly and helpful. Note: the customer service representative mentioned that due to the nature of the construction of the first shoe it was meant as more of a dress shoe, and that if I wore it for regular walking it would likely separate again (I bought another pair of Aldo's, I like the profile too much!). I understand what she meant, but I'm still a little confused that they broke that fast. I have worn $25 Walmart shoes that lasted for two years with heavy, heavy use (I walk everywhere, go for long walks every weekend, etc). But anyway, just some food for thought. I like these "dress style" (?) sneakers too much to not wear them day in day out, they fit my style. I'll wear my old sneakers for long weekend walks I guess. Hopefully these new Aldos hold up! 😅

Terrible checkout experience. I was asked if I was a VIP rewards member; I replied "no, I just want to pay for the shoes". They asked for my phone number and I replied again "no, I just want to pay for the shoes." The cashier then called out to the next person in line for their phone number. The customer came over all confused while the cashier ignored me and started to explain the rewards program to the other customer. I interrupted and for a third time said "I just want to pay for the shoes". The other customer was still confused and annoyed to have been injected into my purchasing process. Another cashier called across to me trying to justify their actions saying 'it's how the rewards program works'. If my daughter didn't need the shoes I would have walked out. I am amazed by the irony of a rewards program that manages to annoy multiple customers at once.
