Had a very unfortunate and frankly appalling experience recently at YSL Vancouver. Let me start by saying that my initial impression of the staff here was excellent. I was helped by this lovely salesperson Amanda who is truly phenomenal. I had purchased a small envelope bag that I eventually returned because my mother who is currently living in Edmonton purchased it for me there due to lower taxes. For the return I was helped by the store manager Joel who is another great employee. Due to unforeseen issues with the system/register in store, the refund could not be returned back to my Visa (original form of payment) but Joel had the head office mail me a check within days. He personally called me to make sure all was good and it was. This was an issue on YSL's end, not mine and Joel acknowledged that and was apologetic and handled it beautifully and found a solution very quickly that worked for everyone. As it happens, I went for vacation in Italy and found the same bag there for an even lesser price. Therefore when I returned to Vancouver I went to YSL to return the bag my mother had bought me in Edmonton. This is where I had the misfortune of dealing with the store director named Meghan. Since I had the bag and receipt in Vancouver that my mother had paid for in Edmonton with 2 different cards of hers as well as cash, I suggested that a mailed cheque would be the most acceptable and easy way of refunding. She absolutely refused to entertain that idea saying it would not be allowed. I pointed out that a few weeks earlier it had been done due to an issue at their end, so in fact it was possible. She very rudely and quickly dismissed that idea. She then escalated the situation to a point of no return. Her tone and language were rude, patronizing, condescending and left me flabbergasted. Her body language was dismissive as well as constant eye rolling and sighing. When I brought up the fact that her behaviour was unacceptable, she had the sharp reply that so was mine with another eye roll. The very lovely Amanda who was in the store and standing next to us as Meghan was dishing out her appalling version of customer service actually looked shell shocked and uncomfortable at what was unfolding in front of her. At a certain point in this exchange, I turned to Amanda and decided that it would be more productive if I came back and just talked to Joel who obviously has a more solution based customer service approach, as well a calmer and more professional demeanour than Meghan. Meghan then interjected herself in our conversation to let me know she was Joel's boss and he would do as directed by her. This was of course all between continued eye rolling, snarky comments and an overall horrendous display of behaviour and customer service. The situation had become so uncomfortable and unappetizing that I decided to leave after being assured by Amanda that Joel would reach out to me the next day when he was in store regarding this. What I find disturbing is that if Meghan is in fact at the top of the employee chain at YSL Vancouver, she is clearly setting a very bad example of what customer service should look like by her actions. The fact there are great employees like Amanda and Joel at the store who have chosen to have a different work ethic and attitude than Meghan is a blessing. If everyone there followed the tone that their boss Meghan sets, I can imagine the word of mouth decrease in sales at the store. At this point the issue isn't even the return, although that still needs to be dealt with. The issue is Meghan and the truly shocking behaviour she displayed during my visit. I reached out to YSL customer service regarding this whole scenario and was encouraged to find that they took my complaint of Meghan's behaviour seriously and would be putting me in touch with the regional manager to discuss this further. I'm giving this store a 1 star review for now based on Meghan's absolutely inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour and the bad taste it has left.

A few weeks back I took a day trip from Victoria to Vancouver as I was in search of a new card holder. I had my eye on one from another brand via online browsing, but when I saw it in person it didn't meet expectations. More importantly, I felt the Sales Associate was not interested in showing me other options, despite my curiosity. I checked out a few more shops with no avail, and at the last minute I decided to make a unplanned stop into YSL. Seamus greeted me immediately, and I told him what I was looking for. He showed me all the options, we had a discussion over each item and I settled on a beautiful Cassandre Matelassé card case in lambskin leather. The service I received for such a small item was exceptional. I will definitely be shopping at this location in the future.

Had a good experience at this store. I had a bag decided for myself already and was just there to buy it. Brian was helping me and he was so professional, still showed me around. Very clean space and excellent collection of bags and clothing. The customer service was also good. I am happy with my purchase and might come back for more.

Wivian you’re truly awesome! Nothing compares from the superb customer service that you delivered which is top notch and for giving a brilliant expertise of helping me choose the right purse that fits my style. You should pop in at their store and look for this lovely lady as she can give you the best advice that you can get. Hands down to her! I would most certainly keep on coming back, as YSL is one of my most fav brand to use. Thanks Wivian!
