I politely said their floors were likely dirty from all the outside foot traffic resulting in dirt adhering to shoes people walk around in while checking for size. I am 63 years and don’t appreciate being accused of lying. Because of my ingrained good manners the interaction concluded on decent terms buy I won’t shop there again.
