I visited the store today to inquire about having my ring purchased from here 1 year ago engraved and cleaned. I was advised that the engraving would take three weeks, so I opted to have the ring cleaned instead as we’re from Scotland, UK and are only in town for another 10 days. While my assistant was cleaning the ring, a couple with two small children entered the store. It was evident that these customers were VIPs and were given priority attention. A gentleman who appeared to be the manager rushed over to hug them and practically lick their boots. Upon returning with my ring, my assistant placed it on the table, turned away from me and hugged the extremely important lady who had just arrived. She then walked off, said goodbye, and took out colouring books for the children. That was my interaction finished, I’d clearly overstayed my welcome. I really wanted to view another piece of jewellery during my visit, but my desire to do so was clearly secondary to the VIP customers who had just arrived. I understand the importance of welcoming high-value customers. However, this should not be at the expense of other customers in the store. I am deeply disappointed with this experience and do not expect such treatment from Cartier, I hope your extra special guests purchased something. Embarrassing
