My gift card was fraudulently used by a random woman in California (which was shown to me by the manager working there) who had used 15 different gift cards for a total of $681. Nothing was able to be taken care of on the spot which is somewhat understandable, but days later my claim was denied. I was in absolute shock upon receiving this email. So because your system isn’t able to prevent fraudulent theft of your gift cards I am left without my gift card funds? I’ve been shopping at Nordstrom since I was in high school 20+ years ago and I have always like Nordstrom Rack and Last Chance, but I mean this when I say this, I will never go there ever again or any of my family until this is resolved.

She asked if I had a phone number on file and I said no, but she asked if I wanted to set one up and she was pretty persuasive so I caved. After taking some preliminary information I figured was normal she then asked for my driver’s license which I thought was odd. She offhandedly mentioned a credit card at which point I pulled the plug on the whole thing. Now, something didn’t sit right with me about the situation so I called Nordstrom card services. It turns out she signed me up for a rewards account *and additionally* attempted to sign me up for a credit card without my consent. Everyone I spoke to on the phone with Nordstrom was pretty flabbergasted. I’m considering my options at this point but this was clearly a scam.
