- MDMakenna DaleJan 28, 20261.0I had a very upsetting experience at this Nordstrom Rack location on January 8th 2026 in the early afternoon. I was shopping with my 10 month old baby, who has a large, red, noticeable port wine stain birthmark on his face. An older male employee, I’d guess in his 60s, was pushing a clothing rack and stocking the shelves was stopped in his tracks and STARING at my baby with a horrified expression. He finally approached me and said, again horrified, “WHAT happened to your baby???” I told him flatly that he is fine, it’s just a birthmark. The employee did not respond and backed away, turning back to again STARE with that god awful expression, to which I loudly said “he is FINE, nothing to see here.” He finally scurried off. It is not unusual for us to get stares, we are unfortunately very used to that now, but what we experienced by an employee was absolutely unacceptable. I have zero problems with people politely inquiring about my sons difference, and children stare everywhere we go, but for a grown ELDERLY man to have absolutely no tact or social awareness in this situation is ridiculous and embarrassing for your company. I would have emailed this privately if I could have found anywhere to contact your store directly, but alas. Perhaps rethink your inclusivity training Nordstrom 🚮
