- JPjaja praphanDec 2, 20251.0Last weekend, my husband and I were looking for a tuxedo for his cousin’s funeral. We saw one that he loved and wanted to purchase it. However they only had one left and it was on a mannequin. We waited for a store associate to come by and assist us with that item for over 20 minutes. 2 of them walked past him without acknowledging him or asking him if he needed any assistance. We both went to get an associate from a different department, and once we got back to the mannequin with the associate, the tuxedo coat was gone. This guy grabbed it without staff assistance. My husband was upset about it and all the staff told us was, “Technically he can’t do that without us getting it for him.” They just let him have it even though they told us the right thing to do for a customer to get an item off a mannequin was to wait for staff assistance. They offered to get that same item for us online, but it wouldn’t arrive on time. We still felt that was unfair and they didn’t get onto the guy that grabbed it without store assistance because we were waiting for 20+ minutes for staff to come and help us with that item. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. We later searched up if store associates can allow anyone getting away with removing an item and it says that customers are not allowed to take clothes off from mannequins at all. As well as it’s considered shoplifting and it’s against store’s policy. We also felt he was racially discriminated because he’s black, and the man that got the item off the mannequin was caucasian. That being said, the staff handled our experience poorly and we were ignored and didn’t get the item that my husband wanted and got to first for his cousin’s funeral.
