- MJM JJan 12, 20261.001/12/2026 Today I went the Oxford, Alabama JCPenny to spend a gift card that I received for Christmas. The store was clean, and the merchandise was just so so, but the sales associates were absolutely rude. The complaining of them, out on the sales floor, in front of customers, about having to do their job, was just too much. One woman, that was sorting the clearance rack, did an excellent job of telling everyone that could hear her that she was sick and tired of customers not putting their try-ons back where they go. I left that area, to avoid her at the checkout, only to be checked out by the most sour woman at the mens clothing entrance register. She definitely didn't want to be there. What happened to JCPenny? This used to be my favorite place to shop. If I had not had a gift card, I would have left. I will not be returning, and I will be telling my family to never give me another gift card from JCPenny.
