Far too few people to check out, too few open dressing rooms, sale racks look so chaotic I may as well be shopping at a thrift store. Today, I found about $400 worth of items I wanted to purchase in the home goods section. Not a single check stand open there, so I walked to the next closest manned check stand a few departments over, only to find 6 people in line ahead of me. Since I couldn’t even hold all of my items in my arms, I would’ve had to walk back and forth between the home goods/bedding department to this far off check stand at least twice to get everything over there. I walked out of the store instead, so Belk’s just lost a $400 sale due to being understaffed. Went to Dillards, bought everything I needed easily and got helped right away. Too bad. I will add, however, that Tina at the Estée Lauder counter helped me very efficiently and with a smile.
