  I came to this location to purchase hiking boots and I was met by Paschal who was welcoming and very nice. He went to the back to see if they had the shoes I wanted but unfortunately they didn’t. Paschal and his co-worker, Judah, who was equally as nice told recommend some good alternatives. Although I didn’t get what I wanted, the customer service was amazing.

  Really great experience at Sporting Life Southgate. I came in looking for running shoes, and Cooper and Narinder were incredibly helpful. They took the time to walk me through different options and made sure I found the right fit. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping rather than rushing the sale. They made the whole process smooth and easy. Big thanks to them for the excellent service.

  I can't thank Andrew enough for his help in choosing the perfect footwear! I was struggling to find something that fit my needs and style, but Andrew's expertise and patience made all the difference. He listened to what I was looking for, offered great suggestions, and helped me make a decision I'm thrilled with. Thanks to Andrew, I now have the perfect shoes! Highly recommend seeking his advice if you need help with footwear.

  This was my first time in this store and I’m quite disappointed and doubt I’ll ever be back. They get a 1 star for the selection and product variety. Other than that their customer service and staff suck! Waited for over 20 mins for someone to bring us shoes to try on. When I asked a staff member they said I’m going to have to wait 10 minutes because “they’re busy”. Their staff are extremely unmotivated and lack customer service skills let along people skills - basic manners and a work ethic. It’s sad what our world is coming to.

  I had to make a complicated return of two Arcteryx down jackets which I bought on-line (they didn't fit). When I went to return them in-person at the Edmonton Sporting Life store at Southgate Mall, a problem arose because the digital record of the transaction appeared to have been lost. However, the staff were very patient and diligent and persisted (for two hours!) until a clue was found in my emails that finally enabled the return to go through. I was very impressed with all of the Sporting Life staff that helped to solve this mystery and the effort they made on my behalf. Special mention goes to digital genius Alex (shipping and receiving) who finally found the answer (wonderful attitude and great sense of humour); and Assistant Store Manager Lauren who quarterbacked the situation beautifully (she was patient, courteous and professional and determined to solve the problem; a calm and very capable manager). I also want to thank Department Manager Geoff Findlay who initially agreed to accept the return of the jackets (even though I was over 30 days) and also interfaced with the Toronto Yonge Street store from which the jackets were originally shipped; and Sales Representative Caitlin who helped me shop for clothing during and after the two-hour return (she was patient, knowledgable and helpful). Lauren, Alex, Geoff and Caitlin are truly exceptional staff members who turned a long, gruelling process into a very memorable and pleasant occasion!
