  Hello, I am writing to express my major concerns regarding the service at the firearms counter during two recent visits. I want to be very clear — every other department at this store is consistently fantastic. The only reason this review is not 1 star is because of them. However, the gun counter has been shockingly unprofessional and, quite frankly, incompetent. On my first visit, I purchased a new rifle — along with a scope, ammunition, and accessories totaling around $5,000. It took far too long to get any help, and when I finally did, the employee seemed completely disengaged, and made the entire process feel like a burden. What should have been an exciting purchase turned into a frustrating ordeal. The following day, I returned to buy an extra magazine and additional ammo. Different employee — exact same problem. When I asked whether the magazine would fit my rifle, he confidently said yes before I even told him which rifle I had just bought there the day before. When I provided the model, he stared blankly and appeared confused, as though answering a simple product question was overwhelming. This level of service is not only unacceptable — it is concerning, especially in a department where customers need knowledgeable, alert staff who take their role seriously. Customers spending thousands of dollars should not be met with indifference, confusion, and a lack of professionalism. I strongly urge management to address training, and customer service expectations within the firearms department. It reflects very poorly on the Cabelas Thank you for your time.

  My husband was Helped by Olivia today, she was able to help him find hunting gear for the kids as well as for himself. It was so quick and painless, she even found stuff out back for us which was amazing and so helpful. got us set with some camping gear! Absolutely amazing customer service will be back as a family.

  I came into the store looking for a smoker to replace my old Bradley. I was uncertain of what to get next, and hadn’t done much research of my own yet. Young man Noah came up and gave me not only great recommendations but helped me understand the difference between the available smokers. Great customer service - ended up purchasing a Masterbuilt 710 after his breakdown. If you’re looking for a grill or smoker I recommend Noah’s advice and knowledge.

  Overall the staff are fairly friendly, however product knowledge was lacking, an example of this was looking for the ice pack for my Cabela's meat grinder, i pointed out the exact unit i own and was sold the wrong size ice pack, which i will be returning. And only store in Alberta that has the right size which is about a 4 hour drive away. There was also a lack of customer service from the gun counter, five staff were working it, but only serving about 2 customers at a time, and they referred me to customer service for a price match which they believed met store policy. When i asked at customer service i was told that it did not meet the requirements, which is ok. However when i asked if they could educate the floor staff i got a long winded version of its not the floor associates job to know store policy, which is unacceptable. I even asked if they could at the very least just communicate to their employees that all price match questions be sent to customer service, and ultimately was still told no. This store needs a visit from corporate office.

  First class service at Bass Pro on the Northside. My wife and I visited the store to look at some of the smokers. We were going to conduct some online product reviews at home when Bass Pro employee Noah walked up and asked if he could make a recommendation based on his personal experience with smokers and what we wanted in a smoker. His colleague Mathew joined the conversation and the two gentlemen recommended a Masterbuilt 710 digital electric smoker. We appreciated their recommendations and confidently purchased the smoker. Of course, the device is perfect for our needs. I can't recommend Bass Pro Shops in North Edmonton and Noah and Mathew enough.
