  Some of the staff could use basic customer service training. Not sure if I witnessed racism or simply apathy. Either way, it was a negative experience and bad enough that I didn't want to return to the store when I later realized we may have forgotten something inside. Thankfully, I found the missing item at the first place we visited. Didn't expect this to occur while shopping in the mall and with really young children in the mix. Disappointing. Please, do better. Or get some help.

  Great selection. Lots to choose from. Good amount of Skechers. Thought prices would be lower. Not busy at lunch time on a Saturday. If you are looking for new shoes I would definitely check this place first.

  Reading these reviews feels like a guide on how to be offended no matter what happens. Staff approaches you. Rude, let me shop in peace. Staff leaves you alone. Bad service, they don't care. Boxes are messy, unacceptable. To some degree, this is true. But when asked to clean up after yourself, also unacceptable. Seriously? What exactly are we expecting here? A personal assistant to follow us around, carry our boxes, help us read which is size 9 and which isn't? Or help us try on sneakers? This is a self-service store. The washroom complaints are especially wild. There's a clear sign saying it's for staff only, and the mall washroom is right beside the store. Somehow, this still becomes a major issue. Long line at the cashier? Maybe someone called in sick last minute. Or probably that staff standing there is actually on break. It's not like it was done specifically to make you wait. But alright, it would help if a staff on break isn't in the frontlines coz that's really prone to misconceptions. Then we get to returns. The policy is not complicated. Shoes must be unworn. It does not limit to being worn outdoors. And subject to management approval. The 60-day window is not a free trial. Cmon folks, this isn't Costco where you can return Christmas trees after holidays with no questions asked. A lot of these 1-star reviews don't seem to be about the store at all. They read more like frustrations being told no or being asked to follow basic rules. At a certain point, it stops being about customer service and starts being about expectations. Policies are not personal attacks, signs are not suggestions. Cleaning up after yourself is not oppression. So here's the actual review. 4 stars out of 5. The selection is great, at least for my preferences. I've bought winter boots, casual shoes, dress shoes, kids shoes, sneakers here. If a size or style isn't available, they can check another branch or online. Just ask! They even store orders until you can come get them. Come early, and you'll probably find the store more organized. Not a staff, just a very regular customer who’s had the chance to observe people and experience things firsthand. Why not 5 stars? There’s still some room for improvement… but I’ll keep that between me and the staff. Trust me, they’re open to feedback, as long as it’s reasonable of course.

  I normally love DSW’s selection but would avoid this location. During an exchange of shoes that I’d tried on in store for a different size the manager claimed they’d been worn and refused the exchange. I ended up having to buy the replacement pair of the same shoe in a different size and ended up paying more. They wouldn’t honour the lower price I’d purchased the boots at four days earlier. The difference in cost was $30. After the manager left the cashier recommended that I wipe the shoes down and take them to their Cross Iron location to try a return again. While I was in the store there was shoe inserts all over the floor, display shoes missing, and boxes spread all over. I appreciate the manager’s sense for product control but the lack of floor maintenance in the store is what caused the issue in the first place. I did not flag this during the interaction because the manager said two sentences to me and then walked off for her staff to deal with the situation. The treatment was discouraging and unprofessional. There are other shoe stores in the mall, go where your money is valued!

  My family and I had come to buy shoes for my son, but my newborn woke up and I needed to feed him urgently. The toilet was locked, so I asked if they could open it so I could feed the baby and explained the situation. They told me the toilet was for staff only. She said she would ask the manager, but he would most likely say no. I was shocked. In the end, she said she could open the toilet, but I didn’t want to anymore. Thank you.
