  Don’t rent here! Not unless you want black mold and cheap units. if you live there it will affect your living. They poorly paint over the mold and the units are so thin walled you can hear someone using the bathroom upstairs or talking at moderate level. Yes it is a quiet small complex which is nice but the cons are much worse.

  Vancouver mall Apartments has been a nice place to live quite and close to the mall the staff is friendly and always willing to help with maintenance requests

  My wife and I lived at this apartment for a few years (2020-2023) and generally all was ok. Maintenance generally responded reasonably quickly. However, my biggest issue was the office was unreachable except on their own schedule. 9 times out of 10 when I called, no one answered. The reason I'm leaving a one star review and doing so after I moved out is apparently after attempting to contact us only one time (we received our refund check but no other mail or phone call or anything) they sent our final sewer/ garbage bill to collections. Everything we know about the bill was told to us by the 3rd party collections agency. Vancouver Mall Apartments (fka Madison Square Apartments) has my phone number, we didn't receive any bill from them, and of course we can't reach anyone on the staff for clarification. This is utterly frustrating and outrageous. Putting in the bare minimum effort before sending to collections to threaten with a negative credit score impact is very unprofessional and rude. Abhorrent business practice.

  I lived there for 2 years and moved out 3 weeks ago (May 2016). I hired a professional cleaner (licensed) to clean my place spotless. I asked Cindy to do a final walk through and she kept making excuses that she was not free over three days, citing "working at school" and a "doctors appointment". She will absolutely make every excuse to not do a walk with you and then charge the full cleaning fee of $175. I started gathering all of my conversations with her, the video I took of the amazing condition the apartment was left in, and began filing in small claims. Cindy got extremely irate with me, saying things like "if you want to get nasty, I can get nasty." I found the owner of the complex's information and emailed him, who called me and resolved it with me. He was almost defending Cindy, but in the end we came to an agreement. For anyone who might be going through something similar at move out, PLEASE email me. I HIGHLY encourage you to take a video of the apartment as you left you, including vinyl floors, inside the washer/dryer/dishwater/fridge/freezer, all doors front and back, etc. She uses whatever you don't show to manufacture her own story with "issues" to charge for. It's a scam, I promise. Do not let her talk you out of filing a small claims if you feel like you were wrongfully charged. I will keep every single conversation I had with her to support you should you go to trial. Seriously, please email me if you need the support. itsmikeo at gmail dot com
