Scammed out of security deposit and they violate Washington State Law. We lived in our apartment for three years, never missed a payment, never were late for a payment, immediately put in work orders for repairs. We came down on military orders and they worked with us to get our move out date scheduled and everything seemed to be going great, up to that point, I would have left 4-5 stars. We got to our next duty station, haven't heard anything and assume we'll get our full security deposit back, if not most. One month later we get a bill in the mail for an additional $100 bill and no specifics on any damages, no proof of damages, no estimates from any company, just "painting charges - 2 hours," "Charges for cleaning - touchup," "carpet damage/cleaning - power scrub, carpet repair, steam clean." This clearly violates WA State Law RCW 59.18.280, stating the responsibility of the landlord to provide specific and full account of damages and estimates to repairs prior to withholding any security deposit, and that the damages must be outside of normal wear and tear. I attempted to call them multiple times, they did not answer and the voice mail box wasn't even set up. Seems as though they really just want to use the last tenant for a full redo for the next tenant, completely illegal. Not to mention that I got the apt dirty, with a broken door frame, and scuffed up, and left it immaculate. They're a bunch of scam artists, capitalized on us moving away from the area, and are trying to take advantage of us to do their work for them. Never stay here. You'll think it's fine until it's not and then you'll get hit with a bill.
