- KCKaren Ann ChalupnikAug 11, 20255.0when i inquired about merrrill gardens as a possible home for my mother, ian mackenzie, the communications director at merrill gardens, ballard, suggested a nearby adult family home instead, because he thought it would be a better fit for her. he was right. i cannot thank him enough for steering us toward the best housing solution, even though it wasn’t merrill gardens. his honest advice was deeply appreciated during an extremely stressful time.
