We genuinely love living here and plan to stay. The staff truly makes this place special. Tamia and Gabriela are amazing. They are always welcoming, responsive, and kind. They have helped us navigate several package issues that were frustrating at times but they handled everything quickly through email and phone and always check in and ask how we are doing. Their support makes a huge difference. The apartment itself is wonderful. The pricing is great for the quality, the aesthetic is beautiful, and the renovations keep everything feeling modern and up to date. The cleaning staff does an excellent job. The building is consistently clean and smells fresh. The amenities are a big plus. We especially love the coffee and tea bar and the pet wash. The workspaces are comfortable and useful, and the community events are fun and help make this feel like a real community. One suggestion would be having a resident group chat or online community space to connect with neighbors. Maintenance deserves a shoutout. They are fast, attentive, and reliable, and easily one of the best parts of living here. Even “silly” issues get addressed same day. The location is incredibly convenient. It is close to work, walking distance to our dentist, and across from public workspaces and food options. The area around the building and the mile park is very well lit, which makes us feel safe walking our dog at night. It is very dog friendly overall. There are a few things that could be improved. While the property is dog friendly, there is unfortunately a lot of dog waste outside and no readily available poop bags, which takes away from an otherwise great outdoor experience. There are no dog zones, so all the dog friendly spaces are saturated with poop. The package system can be confusing with lockers and overflow areas. Being encouraged to pay for the parcel pending system feels frustrating when packages sometimes end up in overflow. Or in lockers without a code if you are not enrolled, forcing residents to search anyway. A mirror for drivers at the garage entrance would be a big safety improvement, as we have had a few close calls while walking our dog. Overall, this is a place we truly enjoy calling home. You get the luxury experience without the luxury price (and headache). We love it here!

I shared the review below (the most recent one with photos) on the r/nova subreddit, where newcomers were asking about this property. A few people there are interested in the building, and the reactions were… intense. Several commenters said the photos made their skin crawl. That alone shows the concerns are real and not exaggerated. If you’re considering this place, take the time to really look into the issues people have documented. The community response speaks for itself.

My wife and I have had a wonderful experience working with Gabriela Orellana on our transition into the Highgate Community. We've lived in the area at a neighboring apartment building for the last 2 years and a big reason for us to not renew our lease there and come here was Gabriela's help. She was easy to connect with, very organized and made us feel like we would be valued and respected in this community. We so much look forward to living here and making memories as a family and I can't thank Gabriela enough for a great start to our stay here!

I recently stayed at my friend’s apartment in Highgate for the 3rd time and felt so bad for her. For the price she pays, this building doesn’t even have working elevators. 1 out of 2 elevators in the front has been broken for 2+ months, and 1 out of 2 elevators in the back has also been broken for 3+ months (see photos with dates). 1 out of 2 garage doors has also been broken for 3+ months as well. The walls and floors in this building are PAPER thin, her upstairs neighbors has woken me up early in the morning with their stomping at least one during each of the times I’ve stayed here. It’s crazy how bad it is for the amount she pays.

I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but after everything I’ve experienced here, I feel obligated to warn others. I’ve lived in many apartments before, but this one has been by far the worst-managed building I’ve ever encountered. The management here refuses to take real responsibility for ongoing problems. Instead of working with tenants to resolve serious issues, they delay, avoid communication, and try to make you give up. The community manager Ezra rarely responds — emails often go unanswered for three weeks to a month, if at all. I’ve had to physically go to the office multiple times just to get a response. I’ve lived here for almost three years, and during that time, the ceiling has leaked four times — twice in the bedroom, once in the closet, and once in the bathroom. Each time I’ve asked to be moved to another unit, they’ve told me the only option is to pay for a more expensive unit. Even though the issue clearly comes from their building, the management acts as if it’s my responsibility. When the first major leak happened, they started repairs without covering any of my furniture. Dirty water and ceiling debris fell all over my sofa and other belongings. Everything was ruined and had to be replaced at my own expense. The repair took three weeks, and I couldn’t use my bedroom the entire time. For two days, they ran an extremely loud drying machine using my electricity, which they never reimbursed. A few months later, the bathroom ceiling leaked again — same situation, no compensation, no apology. Then the closet ceiling leaked, soaking my clothes and personal items with dirty yellow water. When I confronted the service manager, Orlando , he actually laughed and said, “Let’s just open it up again.” Another two weeks of construction followed, and again, they ignored every message about reimbursement for the damages. Most recently, the bedroom ceiling leaked for the fourth time. When the maintenance worker came, he said it was serious and would require a major repair — not a simple fix. He even asked if I had ever tried to move units. So I went straight to Ezra and explained that after four leaks and multiple long repairs, I should be moved to a different unit. His response was the same: “You can move only if you pay for a more expensive one.” He called in Orlando and asked how long the repair would take. Orlando smiled and said, “Just two days, no big deal.” I didn’t believe it and asked three times if he was sure — each time he laughed and said yes. It was another lie! The repair ended up taking 21 days. Both the community manager and the service manager lied directly to my face, fully knowing it would take weeks. I had to move everything into the living room again and live there for almost a month in terrible conditions. Once more, they refused to take responsibility for the damages to my mattress, furniture, and clothes — saying there was “nothing they could do.” To make things worse, early on I discovered the washing machine was completely rusted inside, which caused me to develop a skin issue I had never experienced before. Through all of this, I’ve continued to pay rent on time for three years, expecting to live in a normal, safe home — not a place where the ceiling leaks repeatedly, management lies to your face, and basic living conditions are constantly disrupted. They collect rent on time every month, but when it comes to fixing their mistakes or compensating tenants for the damage they cause, they disappear. I'm attaching photos showing the condition of my skin during this ordeal. I continue to suffer from health issues directly caused by the conditions in this apartment. People need to understand the severity of this situation-the frequent water leakage and management's failure to address it properly have had serious consequences for my health. This building’s management is unprofessional, dishonest, and careless. If you value your home, health, or peace of mind, please think twice before moving here.
