I scheduled a guided apartment tour for 12:15 PM on Monday, December 15th at Perry Street Lofts through their automated scheduling assistant “Oliver,” which confirmed the appointment via text message and showed that this time was available — which is why I booked it.
When I arrived on time for my tour, before I even reached the leasing office, I noticed that the entrance area was covered in dog waste. This is extremely unsanitary and disrespectful not only to residents who do clean up after their pets, but also to prospective tenants visiting the property.
When I reached the leasing office at my confirmed tour time, no one was present. I waited until 12:30 PM, and then returned again at 1:00 PM, at which point a staff member was finally inside the office. Based on other reviews, I am assuming this staff member may have been Jasmine, as multiple reviewers have referred to an employee by that name in similar situations. However, she did not introduce herself, so I cannot confirm this with certainty.
Despite the delay and inconvenience, she did not apologize or acknowledge that I had been waiting. When I asked to proceed with my tour, she informed me that she could not conduct it, even though it was already past my scheduled appointment time. Her explanation was that the property had recently issued new key fobs, and because she was the only staff member on site, she needed to remain in the office in case residents required assistance with them.
In other words, although I had taken unpaid time off work to attend a confirmed tour, I was told I would need to come back later because she was “the only one there.”
She attempted to reschedule, but the process dragged on due to computer issues and unrelated conversations, and the rescheduling was never actually completed. What should have been a simple, professional appointment turned into a frustrating and disorganized experience — and the tour never even happened.
In the end, all I gained from this poorly handled situation was lost time and lost wages from my upcoming paycheck.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property. Key concerns include:
• Poor cleanliness and lack of grounds maintenance (dog waste at the entrance)
• Unreliable staffing and scheduling
• Unprofessional and dismissive leasing office interaction
• Little regard for prospective residents’ time or financial sacrifice
This visit made it clear that this is not a community I would feel comfortable living in. Truly wish I could give one star.
