The ongoing elevator problems are the biggest drawback here. For a long stretch, only one car has been operating, which makes getting to and from your apartment extremely slow and crowded. It doesn’t feel like resolving this has been a priority.
The apartment itself is acceptable but clearly built with inexpensive materials — cabinet surfaces were already peeling in multiple places on move in day, same with the LVT flooring which resulted in a major cut on my foot. Our unit also wasn’t properly cleaned at move-in, and we had to request additional cleaning and new carpet before settling in.
We also experienced more than two weeks without functional air conditioning. A portable unit was provided, but it wasn’t sufficient for the whole apartment.
Overall, there are livable aspects, but recurring infrastructure and maintenance issues make it difficult to recommend.

Be aware that this building has been running on essentially one working elevator for about a year, which means long waits and overcrowded rides just to get to the lobby or garage.
Also, residents were told (before signing the lease) common-area electricity would average around $40 per month — but many of us have been paying well over $100 consistently for the past year.
These aren’t minor inconveniences. They affect daily life and budgeting in a big way, and it’s disappointing that both issues have dragged on for so long.

We recently moved to Kingston McLean Crossing from a house in Great Falls, VA. The principal attractions to Kingston were location - proximity to metro, easier access to DC and continued access to Great Falls & River Bend Parks - along with Kingston apartment options. While rental and moving processes can be difficult, in general, Mayra & Fernando helped ease them for us. Other staff, including Reggie & Roy have been helpful & pleasant to deal with.
