I have lived here for a year and a half. I really like the layout of my apartment and I love the maintenance staff, who are pretty responsive and fix things well for the most part. Mr. Saidi Is especially amazing as a maintenance worker. The amenities are also pretty nice. That being said, I’m annoyed by inconsistencies in policy changes and enforcement. Their trash valet service is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes they take your bags when they say they’re going to, other times they don’t at all. When they do come, there’s often trash and leaked trash liquid all up and down the stairs. When you reach out to the apartment office about it via email with photos, they don’t even respond. But after a year and a half of putting my trash out In advance of pick up, like every other neighbor has done in my building and pretty much all the other buildings without complaint, suddenly the front office decided to start enforcing the policy of not putting out trash before by five on a pickup day. Even though I already had several bags out at 12 PM that same day, instead of giving me a grace period for a first time offense, they threatened me that if I didn’t move them back into my apartment “right now” (???) and then move them back out after by 5 PM, they were going to send maintenance over and charge me $50 per trash bag to remove it. I received this call right as I was about to leave my home to get somewhere on time. But since that would’ve totaled $300 for me, a single mother trying to pay bills at Christmas time in this economy, instead of getting to my engagement on time, I went back out and moved my six bags back into my house to stink it up for another five hours. Leaving the trash out wouldn’t have hurt or bothered anyone. Some people can’t be home every night between 5 and 7 PM in order to put their trash out before it is taken, and they shouldn’t be charged for putting it out early in order to make sure that their trash gets taken. Those of us women who live on the top floor of a walk up can’t be expected to bring heavy bags down to the trash compactor, which is several blocks away. The policy of charging $50 per a trash bag for removal outside of that small two hour window, aside from being completely not resident friendly, is being arbitrarily applied. It is not stated anywhere I can remember seeing when I signed my lease, nor was it ever communicated if it was a recent change. So now my six bags of trash are sitting inside my home so I can avoid having to pay $300 of unreasonable fees for an unreasonable policy that was never fairly applied nor communicated. Just be aware of what you’re getting into if you decide to live here. Like I said, there are some definite nice perks to living here, but there are also a lot of policies that just don’t make sense and aren’t fairly communicated, applied or adjudicated for residents. Thank you.

We have lived at woodland park apartments for about 2 years. But I’ve never had any bad encounters with any of the staff/management until today. Gemma Bruce was extremely rude, seemed annoyed, and not helpful, and was a very unpleasant experience with her. We went into the leasing office to sign a paper about not renewing our lease as directed by staff on the phone the previous day. When we walked in the door she was on the phone with a customer, I could see 2 other workers in the office behind her and they made direct eye contact with us multiple times but never came out to greet us or ask us if we need any help. Gemma gets off the phone and asks us what we need and we tell her. We let her know we aren’t resigning again and she lets us know since we didn’t give 60 days notice to vacant that we will have to pay rent until January and all that. She lets us know what our steps are and that she will send us the paper to sign. She had a bit of an attitude during this interaction. We leave and are waiting to see the email come through. It’s been about 20ish minutes and still no email. Due to the circumstances and that this is a important document that we need to sign ASAP I call the leasing apartment. Gemma picks up the phone and I tell her yes we spoke earlier and I’m still waiting on the email to sign for not renewing our lease. She gives so much attitude and annoyance in her voice to me and let’s me know that multiple people walked in the door after us and she had to help them first and she “didn’t have time to send that email right after we walked out the door” as she was dealing with other tasks and people first. I felt like all the comments she was making was unnecessary and she could of just left it at I didn’t forget and apologize that they got busy and she will send the email soon. Very unpleasant experience with her and confirms why we are happy to leave this apartment complex.

This community is well cared for and the staff are attentive and helpful. Isaiah was very knowledgeable about the property and hands-on to assure units were tour and move-in ready. Easy process and decision. Looking forward to my time here.
